hi hi everyone
so KMST changes are going and going but something is still untouched, the situation about the "less" classes and the new formulas and avoid of certain monsters, besides the new magic formula
what will be the impact in some classes like dexless warriors, or lukless mages?
so far checking the new acc bases and the videos, we can see the builds we are used is not fitting anymore, in few videos even archers are missing targets what is really out of reality
Nexon is planning a massive SP reset, but i didnt see any AP reset coming yet.
will the dexless, lukless and so many "less" that are considered the stronger build today, become the more screwed classes tommorow?
these new formulas have a space to fit those "less" classes? or will be just a memory of the old maple?

Training on mobs higher leveled than you is not viable: Even for classes like Bowmen and Gunsligners. Dexless Warriors will have no trouble hitting anything their level or lower, so I don't see any point in adding Dex.
Mages seem to have something different going for them. Not much information on that, though.
I think Nexon announced full SP and AP resets. I skimmed. I can't find it, so ignore that.

Potential system already ended less classes as we know them. And with the change they've made to the skills and the mechanics behind the game has made making less classes even more pointless.
Enjoy your less-ness while you can.

There are no AP resets as for as I know, and really I wouldn't expect there to be one. I mean the game never really told players "Hey if you ignore your secondary stat, you'll be able to dish out more damage" That's a thing that players for themselves decided to do.

They also tell you not to add into HP because it makes you weaker, and have skill descriptions like Meso Guard. In-game text is not a reliable source of information.

Meta, the potential system made stat-less classes stronger.
I speak from a physical damage dealing class point of view, I can't speak for mages.

And it made normal stat classes stronger than statless classes. Adding normal AP points into your second stat and getting gear that adds to your main stat > Only adding into your main stat and getting your second stat from gear > Being statless and using low level equips with low bonuses.

If any stat-less class is using low level equips with low bonuses they're doing it wrong.

that apply mostly to mages and thiefs, but warriors dont have any req to equip weapons (besides stonetooth). or even equips

Statless classes certainly won't be using high level armors with ease though. Most of the time to equip a high level weapon people use low level armors.
Only Warriors and Archers will be able to go statless and still use high level armors without trying.

Archers? I thought their gear required STR just like Thieves and Dex.
Dexless Sin:
+15% Luk and Dex from gear
That gives him some Dex, and a pomegranate load of Luk.
Low/Reg Dex sin:
+15% Luk and Dex from gear
Not as much Luk, but Dex goes up too.
If percent gear works off of armor bonuses, and not just base, Low-Reg Stat classes win.

The thieves and pirates will still be able to go stat-less and exceed their normal stat counter parts.
The key to maximum damage for every class is wearing as many Weapon Attack pieces of gear as possible, while getting all the sub-stat you require to wear your end-game weapon from your armor. The reason you want your sub-stat from your armor is to pump all your points into your main stat. Percentage increasing of stats is the main reason for this mantra I'm chanting.
Maple warrior made stat-less classes much stronger, and this new potential system only drives them further along. The only way a normal-stat class is going to surpass a stat-less equivalent is more funding. Although any character using any type of stat style can come out on top given the right amount of funding, I'll give you that.
But going full out with as much funding as possible, there is no way a normal class can be on par, let alone exceed a stat-less class.
I'll do a very small sample scenario. A Bucc needs 120 dex for his equinox. Now, lets look at this in two different ways;
Both bucs are at the same level, 120.
Bucc A has 120 base dex to wear his equinox, so now he has 200 points for his base str. He is also wearing 2 pieces of gear with strength on them. So he has 300 str, 200 from AP and 100 from gear. (I know the real numbers would be bigger, but I'am making them smaller to make the math easier to follow)
Bucc B has 20 base dex, but he has 300 points in base str. This bucc however has to wear dex gear to wear his equinox, so his 2 pieces of gear have 50 dex each on them. So now, Bucc B has 300 str from AP and none from gear.
Both buccs in that secnario end with equal main stat. Only Bucc A has less base str. Going by this very very simple model, Bucc B wins out simple because of Maple Warrior. And he'll only get stronger with the percentage scrolling system.
Any Dex sub-stat reliant class will get the most out of being stat-less. There are alot of gear pieces that can be scrolled for DEX, but not for STR. So you get your DEX from pieces that cant be scrolled for ATK or STR.
There is no gear model or gearing method that can be used by normal stat classes to out-do their stat-less counter parts. There just isnt. If done correctly and intelligently a stat-less class can support their gear or accuracy requirement and still get all the delicious ATK gear and main-stat gear the normal classes use.
Thieves and bowman can use this system to great success as well, but buccs and warriors have it the easiest.
Edit; @ Hazzy.
Percent bonuses don't apply to gear stats. This is true with Maple Warrior, and is true with the percent bonuses from the new scrolling system.

Statless classes will still be outdone by those with either low or regular in their second stat.
Statless with a scrolled Chaos Zakum Helm and Chaos Horned Tail Pendant would only be able to equip the armors/weapons that give a +6% boost, while the regular can equip the +9. A regular stat would be able to get +100% to their main stat with enough work while the statless would only be able to get about +50% to their main stat by working harder.

Only their weapons do, armours require no STR.

As I understand Potential scrolling, it adds a random amount of each stat to the gear when scrolled, kind of like a Chaos Scroll. So if you're after both Primary and Secondary stats from % Gear, you would get more bonus.
In the case of the two Buccs, Bucc A could lower his base Dex enough that his % Gear and MW stack enough to just hit 120. (What would they stack to? +25%? 30? 30% would mean 90 Base. Lower if he threw normal gear to make up for what the percent gear couldn't do)
This would give him more points for STR and let him get a larger Percent gear boost in STR. While it wouldn't be as big a boost in STR as the Statless, he would get more stats out of his gear. If you switch to using a higher leveled weapon, when they come out, the Dexless wouldn't be able to equip the higher leveled gear and would fall behind.
I wrote this as I thought it out, so...
Statless win now. Low Stat will win when higher leveled gear comes out, like Mages' Lv 163 Staff.
If it's one stat boosted per Potential scrolling, then the system sucks. There's just too many possible stats to boost to get anything decent....

Since this thread seems to have become an analysis of % gear, I have a question:
Are they adding +% bonuses to existing gear, or are they releasing new gear with +% bonuses? And by new, I don't mean new versions of the same gear we have now; new image and name.

huh???
Lets say u got a 500 stat sin
1 is dexless with 500 luk and the other with 400 luk and 100 dex
with the potential items 500 luk sin will get 500 luk * 10%luk while 400 luk sin gets 400 luk + 10% luk...now you tell me which 1 is stronger

Well, let's do the calculation, shall we?
Let's figure that a Dexless sin will be using a 51 ATK Kandayo (+18 ATK from base), 10 ATK WG, 12 ATK pot, and Ilbies - a very likely scenario. This gives you 100 ATK.
To keep things the same, let's assume a Red Craven with the same boost to weapon attack that the Kandayo got (+18) bringing the total attack to 65 ATK, 10 ATK WG, 12 ATK pot, and Ilbies. This brings the total to 114.
Dexless Sin:
2.00 * (4 * (500 + 50) + 25) * (100 / 100) = 4450
All sins must have 25 base DEX, so that's why 25 is there.
Regular Dex:
You said the regular dex sin would have 100 DEX, which is really +75 off of the base 25. So I will take 75 from LUK and put that into DEX for a total of 425 LUK and 100 DEX
2.00 * (4 * (425 + 42) + 100) * (114 / 100) = 4487
Dex sins have just as good damage as dexless sins. Perhaps even better, though, because higher level items grant better potential system bonuses. So, in the end, DEX sins make a hell of a lot more sense than dexless.
For example, level 100 items which the DEX sin can wear can give +9% +9% +9% on LUK which gives +27%. The Kandayo can only give +6% +6% +6% = 18%. Which would you rather have?
