Puppet & Royal Guard S

Since I have a friend approaching BM who wants to kill Royal Guard S with me, I need to learn more about how Puppet works. When the boss is not aggressive towards the Puppeter, does it still try to attack a Puppet? If no, does this mean at Royal Guard S a bowmaster needs to maintain a higher DPS if he wants to kill with another class?

The way puppet works is that you 1st have to make the mob angry at you, casting puppet moves the target to the puppet, ANY attacks from anyone other than the person who cast puppet will break the effect. making the mob attack whoever it feels like, who does the most dmg doesn't matter. This is based on my previous experience using puppet, that was about 6 months ago, its possible its dynamics are changed.

Simply climbing the rope will cause this boss to attack. A bowmaster should solo it.

You can't fight Royal Guard S with another person, Puppet doesn't work that way. The mob will only stay aggroed towards the Puppet if the person casting it, and only that person, is the one fighting it. I've almost gotten killed before because of others trying to attack it while I was fighting with Puppet up.

Basically, Puppet can only keep a mob aggroed towards it when one person is attacking and that person can only be the one casting Puppet.

Also, if your friend is just now approaching BM, he can't fight Royal Guard S that early because he'll do nothing but miss. There's too big of a level difference between 12x and 160, which is Guard's level. Of course, this is assuming he isn't waiting until he's a bit higher.

At around high 13x I was still missing him a majority of the time =x
But yeah, puppet + other people = fail.

These guys pretty much answered the question; basically, the "agro-ed" mob will chase after the player and the puppet serves as a decoy, temporarily taking the players place while the player goes on with what he's doing.
