1 year anniversary since Michael Jackson passed away

Today's the one-year anniversary since Michael Jackson passed away............and shook the world for months afterward.

 My story

So I was at ACT tutoring that afternoon; about 30 mins after I arrived, one of the teachers who was on the computer said "Hey guys, uh, Michael Jackson just passed away". I was like "The ****, are you seriously joking, that's impossible". For the next hour or so, whenever I got the chance, I was following the developments and realized that the world just lost one of the best artists out there in recent history.

Thinking about it, this was one event that made a mark for the rest of the summer

Because it's more important than 9/11? Of course that isn't saying much since everything is more important than 9/11.

My Story:
I was sitting at home on the computer playing some games, and somebody told me he died, and then I said "Oh, Ok" and played some more games.

I guess I'm too young, because all I had heard growing up was that he molested kids.

Same, but im old enough to care, but really didnt care.

I was at work. Next shift came in. Girl coming in said: "Hey, did you guys hear Michael Jackson died?" Then I was like "The basketball player? AMGGGGG."

i was on vacation in hawaii and you full well know that hawaii is a few hours behind, so i was eating lunch and they were on CNN on TV so it was like "ZOMG he ded!11!!!11!"

I was secretly browsing the Internet during volunteer hours on my iPod Touch for a moment to check out headlines and saw it. I was really saddened when I got home.

Last summer, I tried learning to moonwalk. I still can't really get it down.

Wow, already? It sure feels like 3 or 4 months ago for me.

LOL for a minute I thought you were this guy I met there named Draven O.O

I was swimming and my friend was like, "Dude Michael Jackson died," I didn't believe him, naturally, since most people joke around about it. So I went upstairs to my hotel room at the time and saw it on CNN. Pretty shocking.

I was playing Maple and people in guild chat started flipping out over it. Checked out myself and went "Oh. Okay." And continued my day like normal. f3.

I didn't care.

I was browsing the internet when I heard Michael Jackson died, and then I played some more video games and never thought about it again.

After the 80s were over he never produced anything as memorable as what he had produced during his peak. Nothing of value was lost, etc.

You people have no appreciation for the older musical artists that paved the way for newer artists. I can't even begin to imagine how many music artists out there had Michael Jackson as their inspiration, or how he revolutionized the music industry with a passion and dancing moves that majority of today's artists utterly lack in. I bet you people listened to Beat It by Fall Out Boy and Smooth Criminal by Alien Ant Farm without ever knowing it was an MJ original and they were paying tribute to him. God I feel old and I'm only 21. I was saddened and shocked on that day I found out the news, but since I was also on a family vacation I couldn't let it affect me for too long. I still enjoy today's songs but MJ will always have a place in my song folder.

I was leaving my friends graduation back in Harlem, and there were people walking through the streets crying and playing just about every song he made simultaneously on full blast. Imagine the mass amount of negros standing outside the Apollo crying, singing, dancing, and blocking the dam street, and being stuck in the mix of it all for an hour. We tried to escape it by playing the Spanish radio station, but they were on that pomegranate too.

I was chillin', watching TV in the basement, and my mom yelled down, "Michael Jackson died." I flipped over to E! and sure enough, they were just reporting that he had died. :/
