Starting afresh.

If the Maplestory 2.0 patch reaches gMS would you guys create a new character with only fundings in the form of mesos(not equipments) just to get the feel of how a new player would feel ? and then quit after finding out it sucks or continue because you grew fond of the new skills.

would you ?

I'll most likely keep playing my main character. But once it hits, if it hits I'll create a new character to go through all the new motions.

Why would a new character require free skill resets?

If they actually make the classes balanced, I might pick up something I've never tried before, like a Bandit. Otherwise I'll probably get bored of it after a week and leave...again. Did the same with Aran in both Korea and gMS, Bladers in Korea, Evan after a day, Cygnus after a week....

Khaini will be overrun, so I'll opt to a quieter server. So I'll probably have to deal with no funding. More to avoid people than for the experience, but meh. I wouldn't have money to be 'funded' beyond Potion and mount money anyway.

Eosian Wrote:Why would a new character require free skill resets?

Free Skill Resets would let plays adapt their current characters. No resets would screw most players over.

I read his post as:
If they give resets, then I'll stay and play with my current and a new character. If not, I'm done with Maplestory.

That has absolutely nothing to do with the very specific question he asked.

You're not even vaguely in the ball park of the discussion with your answer.

This is actually my intention once it's here. New Char, mowing through the reorganized world.

Besides: it will help me to avoid those awkward moments where a newer player knows more about where to grind than I do.

I'd probably make a Crossbowman, or yet another Hunter. I'd probably do it about a week or two after these mass changes though, as I would be willing to bet that the starting areas in Windia would be crowded to hell and back immediately after the changes. Not to mention all the glitches that are likely to result from this.

(Random rambling: They have to award free SP (and probably AP) resets. Why? Dual Blades. Remember how their creation was time-limited? Not awarding free SP resets would be a giant EFF YOU to the Dual Blade community, not only because of the obvious build problems, but also the fact that no Dual Blade could ever hope to rebuild their character from scratch, since there is no way to create another. Of course, this is assuming that they don't reopen Dual Blade character creation after this.

They'd probably have to remove all the World Tour areas too, unless they have the foresight to adjust the mobs in these areas beforehand. If they leave them alone, they will become crowded to hell and back, just because of how easy they would be to kill when compared to all other mobs, not to mention the drastically reduced EXP curve...)

Off topic:

Oh my God. I completely forgot about World Tour areas when predicting when MS2.0 would hit MapleSEA. Well, two possibilities then:

1. Nexon will remove all areas NOT in KMS... (Quite a lot of people will rage at this)
2. MS2.0 will take a few months longer than current estimates to be released in MapleSEA and GMS. This extra time will be used to change World Tour monsters.

On Topic:

I'm always creating new characters whenever I feel like playing something different. Therefore I have no doubts that I will create a new character when MS2.0 is released.

3. The world tour areas will simply stay as they are.

to clarify: no i would not make a new character. My post was to say that if nexon gae free resets, i would just play my old character with the new updates as i'm tired of making extra low level characters already. Since i basically have characters in all level ranges already, I'd just play off of those.

Old character. Evan didn't really get changed anyways, plus you get to max all their skills =D.

Based on the current skills, I don't think I would continue playing my Corsair unless their Critical miraculously makes up for the 710% damage drop in Cannon. If they aren't upgraded, I would either play my Evan or create a Battlemage. Otherwise I would stick with my Corsair.

I would still use my gunslinger.

Unless there is a storline and new beggining quests, then I would start a cleric.

Bucc if you want to train a little bit fast at early levels but maybe you will still not be wanted at later levels. FPs are the same but less dynamic, I find bucc more fun.
