Gifting permanent items - anyone tried it?

I tried to gift a permanent item.
The drop-down selection of which item (90 day or perma) only appears on the window that asks for payment option:



As you can see, it says I will spend 1800 NX, and doesn't update that when I select the permanent version in the drop down menu.

So, what happens when I click OK?

1) I am charged 1800 NX and the person receives the 90 day hat;
2) I am charged 1800 NX and the person receives the permanent hat;
3) I am charged 3600 NX and the person receives the permanent hat;
4) Crash/error/disconnect/other

Anybody clicked it and know what happens?

3a) I am charged 3600 NX and the person receives the 90 day hat; then I Crash/error/disconnect.

I gifted a perma cape (purple fame cape thing). It charged me for perma item and I received perma item. I did not pay any attention to that part in the blue so I can't confirm if it actually said that when I sent it (if I had and it did then I might have been more hesitant).
