I use a mouse pad. I can't imagine how rough my table would be, or how bloody my palm would be without one.

I use a mouse pad. I can't imagine how rough my table would be, or how bloody my palm would be without one.

I use a mousepad. They're comfortable. Why would you not use one, unless you simply don't have one available?

I don't use a mousepad either and I have an infrared mouse. Mouse pads limit movement too much. And take up space. And make my wrist uncomfortable even with a wrist rest.

The table i can't argue against, but a bloody palm? Unless there's spikes on your mouse or something...o.o

The mouse would tear against the table (wood) as I pressured it. I've had it happen in the past with my old mouse and table. The mouse ended up wearing its grips off first; then the plastic started to erode against the table, and the table also started to scratch up. If I moved it too quickly, it would make a scraping noise against the table as it scratched against it. As such, the mouse became sharp enough to actually cut me if I ran my hand against its edge hard enough, but that's not what I'm talking about. I went a gaming session once long enough to develop some blisters on my hand, and they eventually started to bleed. It only happened once. If I'm resting my hand against my table though, it becomes horribly sore as opposed to lying it on my mousepad. Happens occasionally when the mouse pad gets pushed forward for whatever reason.


Anyways. Laser mice don't 'require' mouse pads, only a smooth, non-reflective surface. Ball mice used them to improve traction with the ball on the surface, as well as having a cleaner surface to use to move on so the ball wouldn't collect debris from the table itself.

And I can cover my entire monitor's width with only 1/3rd of my mouse pad, so up your sensitivity or something.

I just use a mosepad cause they gave me one with my computer...I probably wouldnt use one if I had to go out to get one, lol.

Oh i grew up with my dads office right next to my room and i used his table a lot. He didn't have a mousepad, so i already know it would scratch the table and stuff.

With my mouse speed at max my whole track pad covers my entire screen, which i've been doing since a few months after i got my first laptop. xD
