My mission. Would appreciate your thoughts on the subject matter.

Long time reader, very infrequent poster.

I have been playing Maple for over two years now. My main is 17x and in a very respectable guild in Windia. Recently, I started a secondary character. This time around, being pretty funded, I decided to take the easy way out and leech up to 120. As a first time leecher, I had no idea how many leech scammers there were. I mean, sitting on your bum for 4 hours leveling someone else's character is not fun - I completely agree; however, that's why you're getting paid.

Anyways, I started leeching about 3 days ago and since then I have encountered many legit leechers. Unfortunately, I did stumble upon two scammers who took away 28,000,000 mesos thus far.

A couple more things - I'm not a 13 year old kid. Not to toot my own horn, but I'm pretty well educated and a very straight-forward, legit guy. I know scammers exist in Maple, but since most scamming occur in "non-Nexon" sanctioned transactions (e.g. Leeching), there is no good way of dealing with the non-legit people in our world.

So what have I personally done to address this issue? Well, after getting scammed the first time, every single time I buy leech from an unknown individual, I have Fraps turned on and am constantly tapping the Print Screen button. Why? Well, for every person that scams me, I decided to mark them as a scammer by creating a blog and documenting the incident. Here's the 2nd blog I've created:

My question for you guys is - what are you thoughts on what I am doing? Am I being too harsh? What do you think is the best course of action to get even with scammers?

I think you're taking the game too seriously. Just watch out for potential scammers in the future, and avoid interacting with randumbs whenever possible.

Yeah, people tell me I take everything too seriously. =(

I guess when you're starting out, before you build that legit social net (for leeching e.g.), you will run into these kind of people. I wish there was a thread somewhere that I could turn to, to find legit people who sold leech.

I admit, this seems pretty cathartic. Keep it up.

I don't want to turn this into a thread about the morals of leeching, but; wouldn't it just be easier to not leech? It saves all the hassle of worrying about scammers in the first place....

There are already websites devoted to this, such as Maple NOOBS.

We don't need another, we don't need you spamming links to your site like you did on your last account, and we don't need posts that do nothing but stir up drama by calling people out for alleged abuse.
