Disclaimer: Not which religion is superior. Not whether God exists or not. Just state which religion you belong to, you may add comments if necessary if it doesn't insult another person's religion. I'm making this thread due to my curiosity.
Personally, my parents are Buddhists. I am an Atheist, personal choice. However, I do read Buddhist books to gain insights and become more aware of that particular religion. A specific monk that writes books about Buddhism that I read from would be Thich Nhat Hanh. You might ask me why I would read Buddhist books if I don't belong in that religion. It's to expand my knowledge so I don't judge that particular religion based on common generalizations and stereotypes. I own about 5 of his books, one of them being "Living Buddha, Living Christ". I don't believe in Buddha, to be honest. But I do believe in the helpful insights about life.
One truthful advice from one of the books I read was to basically listen to other's opinions about their religion. Regardless of what I might think, it is better to listen with ears wide and mouth shut. One does not necessarily have to agree, but it is best to listen to what others have to say before you speak. I accept others for their's, and I don't think there's such of a thing as right or wrong. Whatever suits you or your personality. It could even be a cultural or ethnic thing, I think this is the most crucial.
So basically, to sum this up, I'm an Atheist that reads Buddhist books.

Atheism is not a religion. It is a lack of religion.
I am an Atheist.

Never knew you were an Atheist. We stand on common grounds then.

I'm a Muslim.
If this thread strays one toe out of line, I'm locking it. Since this isn't the Rubik's Cube, I'm not locking on sight - just keeping it on a very short leash.

I'm technically an atheist. I do believe Jesus was a great man, and had great things to say. I do not buy into him being divine or anything, he was just a great peaceful man with a good message.

I went to Catholic private school for 13 years (K through 12). My parents are sunday-Catholics (and hardly that anymore, really), and I have chosen to be an atheist.
There are lots of good lessons to take away from various religions, though. The Golden Rule is one of my favorites.

I guess I'm Buddhist. I'm not hardcore with it, but I do agree with many of their teachings.
I do celebrate their holidays (if that's what you call them) mainly because it's just like eating veggies, pray for good things to come for your family, thank your ancestors.

That's fine by me. You can avoid unnecessary flaming and stuff by doing so. If situation comes to that, lock this thread please. My intention is to find out the community's religion, and not so much as their opinion of which religion is superior. So I hope it won't turn out like that, lol.

Kind of a strange way to see it. I do not believe in or belong to any religion, but I do not consider myself an atheist. Maybe there is some higher power, being or beings. I don't know, and I simply do not care either way.
I'm nothing. The only thing I really believe is that there is no afterlife.

Whatever you want to call it. I feel no need to give my beliefs a definition.

I'm a Christian, but not one of those hardcore praise the lord ones. I was just born into the Christian heritage. The religion is flexable to certain extents, but when it gets to the point that people start saying "If you are of any other religion, you are going to hell." I try to seperate myself from it. I mean, if we can believe that a zombie is our savior, who are we to who is going to hell for believing in somthing just as far fetched?
All religions are good and have there ups and downs, as their main focus is to better man...
I am a Christian, most likely to become an Athiest in the future.

Technically, Roman Catholic. They tell me membership is for life, but I've more or less decided to let it lapse. My family has always been incredibly secular anyway, and while I have a mild interest in learning about mythologies and religious traditions, I have no real beliefs or interest in following any kind of religious system.

I have to disagree with you on that one.
I believe there is one objective reality. Either the universe came into being all by itself, or it didn't; either you have an eternal soul that will be reincarnated, after your death, depending on your behavior, or you don't; either Mohammed was a prophet speaking for the Almighty Creator of the Universe, or he wasn't. Your personality or culture has nothing to do with it. Believing in a religion whose description of reality is false could - depending on what the truth is - be harmless, or it can get you an eternity in Hell.

I guess you could say I'm Buddhist. I don't know a ton about it. I'm not super hardcore but I do believe in a lot of the teachings and I wear a little Buddha necklace. I follow some traditions that I do with my family. Yeah...that's about it.
