Curious about Crossbowman/Sniper/MM leveling speed
#1
I've heard some people say that xbows level slowly, but then again, I've seen people against that, but haven't really exactly elaborated on it.
So in terms of weapon-using classes, how fast do xBows level?

As everyone knows I think they are slow in 4th Job. Rolleyes

I got around 5mill exp an hour at Skelys and 6-7mill an hour at OB4...soloing on 1x of course. Compared to Arch Mages and Bishops that I hear can get 20+mill an hour on 1x, I've heard some DK's can get 20+mill an hour too.

It highly depends on your own skills and Equip and supporters. MM does not lvl that slow but there are chars which r lvln faster ( Aran ). Example i was at Galloperas with my Sniper. Buffs: MW+SE+ECHO+HS+ 4x + 1 hitting Bishop on the other side. i made avg 300% ea hr from lvl 90-100. My Aran made avg 400% ea hr from lvl 90-100 with the same buff except SE. The same at Skele. My aran was slightly faster than my Sniper but its still good. but for me it seems that my MM trains faster than my BM but my BM is stronger at bosses.

We're talking about normal people using their own buffs.

I think they're faster in 3rd job compared to Rangers.

Well you cant say it in genaral because a Bow is faster than a xBOW but the xbow usually deals more dmg, so there is not
a real difference. Thats what i can say because Im playing both classes.

^They don't have exactly the same skills... One can be faster than the other.

You're doing something wrong if you're getting those low rates. I get like 12.5mil per hour on 1x soloing oblivion 4 and much higher splitting map, and you definitely don't have half my damage.

I've started to train off royal guards now, they take about 30-40 mins for me depending on how much I chat while doing it, and they give 15.5mil exp each, which is like 25-30mil exp/hour. I'm still going to train at oblivion 4 though because killing royal guards is pretty dull, they don't drop time pieces, and sometimes I die when I zone out.

Crossbows and bows are the same speed with booster, and crossbow eruption and strafe being slightly stronger than bow rain and strafe makes snipers level a tiny bit faster, although this difference is pretty negligible.

7mill an hour was on the high end of the exp I got. I dunno what your damage range is but mine was just on 5k with an attack pot...see above comment. Rolleyes

Loving your class can do a lot to help you train your class harder, get better equips, and feel more motivated in general.
Training with someone helps ease the pain of solo.

Crossbows do have a slight disadvantage in that it takes them a tad longer to shoot from when you first press the attack button. In that respect, they seem better suited to standing in one place and constantly shooting, rather than moving around.

EDIT: Sorry for necro, didn't check date...

Bowmasters are better, I got from 12x-200 in less than 2 months with the help of royal guards.. It may not be fun for others, but I'd rather get it done fast than spending 2yrs of my life training and "having fun".

EDIT: Sorry, didnt check the date either.

I prefer to traditionally train than go to a place like RGs to be honest ;p

The slight difference in shooting speed is hardly enough to care of worry about. The key difference between Marksmen and Bowmasters is simple. Bowmasters are superior in single-target DPS, and Marksmen are superior in multi-target DPS.
