New Chat UI - JapanMS

This is the new user interface added to JapanMS today.



It's much like any other MMO, but I like it so far. It's a nice change.

what are the tabs for?
and is the chat window like the "maple messenger"?

The tabs are different chat types. By order from left to right it's

All | General Chat Only | Whisper | Alliance | Guild | Squad Chat | Party Chat | Buddy Chat


The chat window is just what you have in the minimizable window. It's not a new messenger, but it does allow you to mute certain chat types and be able to hone in on one chat type. It also filters out Gachapon notices and all megaphones with the bottom box of that chat box. Pretty useful, IMO.

never heard of this chat.. and also spouse chat is missing,or you mispelled squad instead of spouse?

I've posted this idea before. Tabbed chats and PM windows. Definitely needed what with the amount of spam you get in MS.

Lol. It's a new type of chat added with today's patch. I haven't gotten a chance to test it out, so I don't even know what color it is. ;x

could it be a chat for like HT/PB? like sometimes when you're on the opposite side of the map, not everyone can hear you in all chat, so maybe its a chat for anyone who's signed up on a boss squad.

Dunno. I've never played CMS. But from screen shots, I've never seen anything like this in any other version of Maple. I might be wrong, though.

I'm glad they had the sense to make the chat window transparent...it's so annoying when it's blocking a huge chunk of your screen.

I'd love a costumizable tab like in Aion, but this is a great step forward.

It seems like the tabs would be exactly over the player and monsters unless you minimize the chat. Or if they only appear when you hover over it or something.


If they hadn't made all these solid-background smegas I would be able to see through my chat windows and I wouldn't minimize as much.:x

That's what the secondary chat box is for. lol It filters out the super megaphones and all other messages so you only see the chat and with that, you can limit chat types.

If you're talking about the chat messenger, then that's not what he's showing. It's the basic chat thing you see on the bottom left.
