Thought this was interesting. These games look promising, let us hope NEXON takes better care of these games than they do Maple.

Blade and Soul Owns those games. lmao they look horrible compared to blade and soul.
i dont understand why nexon thinks that they need to create more and more and more games.

F2P can compete with P2P games, but it doesn't mean they'll win. They might be way behind though. F2P games have to rely on 'addictiveness' of the game to draw others into spending money to constantly upgrade their gear as well as merchant, etc. P2P games requires users to constantly spend a SMALL fee (imo) to play the game, but everything is fair gain from there. People don't have advantages by spending more money. Everyone starts out the same, it just depends on whether you are willing to pay to play.

Fun fact: Vindictus is based off the source engine.

Isn't everything these days?
Anyway, both of those games looked incredibly boring. If I'm in the mood for a 3d hack and slash RPG, I'll wait for D3.

I'm really looking forward to DN. It's fighting style seems to be more like a console game then the "turn-base like"(idk the term) style of other online mmorpg's(EG WoW) (yeah I'm sure their are better one's with that same style out there but w/e).
As to F2P VS P2P... I've never though of f2p to be a good business strategy, in terms of funding alone, it's so unstable and is pretty much determined on the possible outcome of someone buying something which can be a high or low outcome and is pretty much random and unpredictable which makes decision making difficult and risky.
Some companies have shown it can turn a profit but at least with a P2P you have a predictable steady profit.

If you don't think F2P is a good marketing strategy/ploy, you're playing the wrong game. Look at Nexon. Are they a great company? No. Do they reel in a lot of money? Yes. I'm sure quite an amount of people spends money on NX. I'm sure some people might spend around $15 per month or more. This beats WoW's P2P costs, or evens it up. But, the reason why WoW might do does better is because they have a larger fanbase.
Edit ; Had to edit, the 'might do' is false. WoW definitely gets more money.

I'd be willing to bet that WoW's customers are more satisfied with their playing experience than we Maplers are.

That's pretty much Age of Conan and 3D-Lunia respectively, rather not unique.

Mabinogi Heros has always looked really great to me. I played Mabi for a while but it got REALLY boring after my 3rd rebirth because I was soloing everything most of the day. Gets pretty fun when you're doing runs with people though, but i was waaayyy too low a level to catch up to them so I pretty much left that game.

I found interesting having people focusing on mob control, with CHAINS. And how the textures changed as the fight went on.

Games run by a publisher with the actual game developer overseas and tied most closely to a foreign version of the game will never be able to equal a game run by the game developer. The publisher can recieve feedback about how to improve the game but since they don't actually program the game, there's nothing they can do other than nag the game developer.
As for F2P vs. P2P...I think that F2P could in theory match P2P games but it won't because the F2P game has to make money somehow and there is large monetary incentive to add cash shop features that imbalance the game.

I'm really looking forward to Vindictus, and I hope to make an Acrobat in Dragon Nest.
EDIT: I looked up some more gameplay videos of Blade & Soul, doesn't really attract to me that much to be honest...

This is something I have been thinking about. With Nexon's declarations of been developing a new version of MapleStory (MapleStory2) I was wondering what kind of game it will be, (F2P or P2P) and which one would be better for it. I personally think it will be much better as a pay to play, as this will remove Nexon’s duty of creating new methods or content that could imbalance the game in order to generate profit, also obligating them to take more care about their game, as on the game itself and how satisfied tts customers are will rely their income and potential to increment them.
The advantages of a F2P are, well, that you don’t need to spend real Money on it if you want to, to be able to play, but at the same time, since game is still a business for the publisher, they are obligated to develop other features to generate income. On the other hand, the only way (most of the times) to increase they income is to increase the user base, for which they are bound to increase the game quality and keep the users happy
Unless the monthly payment is too high I hope MS2 is a P2P.
As for Mabinogi and Dragon Nest. The day Dragon Nest comes to America I will play it for sure

VINDICTUS. A name change, but it definitely sounds good if not better for a game that was already above average. Sounds good. Looks good.

Both of these look boring. I will admit that MabiHeroes looks better than Dragon's Nest though. Dragon's Nest just reminds me of Legend of Zelda. If I wanted that, I'd pick up Twilight Princess and play it again.
