#1
 Warning: Over 100 screenshots

"(Andy) I can't use the watch anymore cuz I'm exhausted and MY WATCH DETECTS MY MENTAL AND PHYSICAL STATE AND ALSO IF I'M IN AN APPROPRIATE TIME, SO IF I TIME TRAVEL WITH IT (EVEN IF IT'S MADE FOR THAT) I CANT GO BACK, lololol"

"(Policeman) Ohai I'm a policeman in danger though I'm in the middle of the monsters and do nothing LOLOLOL"

"(Captain Edmond) LULZ, I'm Captain Edmond. Thnx for keellen' monstars, now I'll stay here and lol at how they lose their sense of direction LULZ THAT'S FUNNY S'HIT"

then a "Can you vouch that this is the truth?" out of nowhere.

"(May) ohai. monstars are destroying the city, do you want a cup of tea?"

"(Bao) I'm a photographer in the middle of monstars. I dun even know what am I supposed to do there.. take photos of Iruvatas mebe LOL. Oh anyway, May is polite, but she can be pretty cold."
"(Me) There is a lady named May not too far from here"
"(Bao) Orly? I didn't know LOL k see u around"
(he wasn't supposed to know about her)

"(Ken) Ohai I'm a copy of Jack Barricade. Wassup?"

"(Isabella) HELP! HELP ME!! I'M DYING!! Oh, by the way, did you see that angel where the high rise collapsed? It's so kawaiii ~"
"(Me) That can't be, angels don't exist"
"(Isabella) YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE ME! k bai"

"(Nalo) I can't believe my brother is such a noob and dumped his responsibilities on u! I'm gonna scold him after oh anyway thnx for keellen da monstars"

Finally,

"(Ashura) EVERYTHING IS STILL UP IN THE AIR"
"(Me) wat"

*kills Nibelung*

"(Ashura) You destroyed Nibelung. I already know everything so don't annoy me with your s'hit. I don't think you fully understand yet, and you never will as the people who wrote my quest text suck. Anyway, take this circlet and get your ass out of here now. I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU TIME TRAVELER!"

Seriously, I've never experienced such an horrible storyline. EVER. I thought it'd have had at least some relation with the Black Mage, but I was TOTALLY wrong. This area totally sucks ass, I regret saying Neo City was better. I apologize for that. I was a stupid. Who would imagine that the storyline would suck balls so much? I'd rather have monsters which 1 hit K.O. me than having this. Seriously, the worse area EVER. At least the quests make SOME sense, but the storyline isn't even complete (and I bet it never will be), and.. well everything is out of place. The NPCs are left with strings from the original Neo Tokyo, like May's "Do you want a cup of tea?" and Captain Edmond's "Can you vouch that this is the truth?". I don't know if it's like that on KMS too. This really is sad, most of the bosses are one-hit-k.o-able (I thought they would have been A LITTLE stronger), etc... this area is a complete failure.

The main reason I said I prefered Neo City are the weak monsters and the fact that they don't deal much damage. Because of them, I thought I could finish the quests and get to know the end of the storyline faster. In fact, that's what happened, but.. the storyline isn't as I expected it to be. I hope they'll at least complete it sooner or later, even if I don't really think so. *sigh* What a failure area.

Nexon can't please everybody.

Besides, while the storyline might be a watered down, crappy version of what it was originally, at least Neo City has SOME sort of a storyline. Majority of the places we get, do not.

Yeah, but while Neo Tokyo's storyline is probably made of more than 200 pages of text, ours isn't even 20 pages, and it's really banal if you ask me.

At least the complainers actual contribute to discussion, jesus christ. You're a broken record. BUT IT'S GREAT TO HAVE YOU BACK!!!

Me and Isaac did Neo City last night. We were both a little let down that the slime were the pinnacle of difficulty, but otherwise it was fun. He died at Aufheban becauce of damage reflect, haha.

Aufheban has damage reflect? I thought it was only Orobon, guess I killed Aufheban to allow her to cast it. o.o

Maybe it was Oberon. It was the second last boss; the big angel that never stops firing huge beams.

Dont forget about Asia npc, placing her there for absolutely no reason and you cant even talk to her.

We've been trying to tell all of you that from the beginning that both of these areas were horrible, but eh. You finally get it now that you have it.

Also, neither of those strings are from the original neo tokyo. Captain Marychasu =/= May. She wasn't supposed to be a maid, that was simply the NPC design.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot about her. I hoped that the story would've been completed with her, and that you would've had to talk with her at the end. But no.

Oh, that makes a lot of more sense then. It's so normal for someone to ask "Would you like a cup of tea?" in the middle of the destruction of a city.

And sigh, it's even sadder to know that she wasn't even supposed to be a maid. But almost none of the NPCs were given the original role they had in Neo Tokyo.

I said part of this to Isaac last night but I'll post it here too:

I'm still not convinced that Neo Tokyo is the better choice. In terms of story, well, absolutely. I love a good story and it hurts me deeply to see one get ripped to shreds by poor translation and lazy writers. That said, from what I know of Neo Tokyo and what I've seen of Neo City, I can't see Neo Tokyo being any fun. Some of the monsters in Neo City were a pain in the ass as they were in their nerfed form. There's no way I'd want to have to fight hundreds of them for rare drops and a chance to die at every second. Specifically, those flying pineapples were annoying as pomegranate and would really ruin Neo Tokyo. Also the girls with super KB.

Both Neo Tokyo and Neo City did right things but left out important parts. Neo City is playable, but the story is rubbish. Neo Tokyo is ridiculously overpowered with a wonderful story, but what's the point in a good story if most people never get the chance to read it? There's no way that most of GMS could ever make it through the entirety of Tokyo. There needs to be some balance between a good story and a useful area. No matter what, we were screwed from the beginning. But in Neo City's defense, at least they made it so it's something most people can get through without the hassles that major areas provide (including elitist pineappletards that would inevitably take over).

Neo City was fun (for me atleast).

I'm at a loss for words. Neo city was even worse than I thought. Uninspired, hasty, silly and useless. The story and use of the NPCs was so unprofessional and infantile that any godforsaken p-server manager could have crapped out a better area while doing the kossack dance playing kalinka with his pube hairs. Thx for the slap in the face Korea, where will you hit me next?

Why do I feel like Nexon will add Neo City and Neo Tokyo and will say "Theory of Multi-verse". Perhaps I'm just hoping too much.

One more thing to note

There is surprisingly large number of players over 70 without zhelms, whether it's due to a lack of funding, the drive to want to earn one themselves, or just not having access to a decent party. The circlet gained through this quest chain is an incredible alternative to players in that position. Level 70 players now have the option of fighting around 5 bosses of increasing difficulty and the introduction of effects like damage reflect and magic/weapon sealing that aren't found in bosses earlier than that point. This is incredible, invaluable experience for players who aren't as well connected or clued-in as us here at southperry.

While it's easy to see how this affects you and how much better it might have been for you to get Neo Tokyo, take the player-base as a whole into account and think about how this effects them.

"B-b-b-but Sarah, players already have a wealth of areas for their level, what about MY high leveled needs! As a player with a 162 main, surely you can empathize!"

I absolutely do empathize with our need for content. I always want something I can take part in. But I was also once a wandering player with no connections and no buddy list. I know how frustrating it is to run out of quests, or have no idea where to go next, or just not have access to those areas. I didn't get my zhelm until around level 160, because I wanted to earn it myself, and when I was powerful enough to do that I still kept getting screwed.

This is a big win for casuals, and while they may not be hardcore like everyone here, their needs are no less important.

I have to disagree. It may not be the best area, or even a halfway decent one for that matter, but I'm enjoying it so far, and so have a good number of my friends. Plus it's always refreshing to go to a new area and quest/hunt/goof off.

Like you're one to talk, or majority of Southperry, for that matter.

But I digress... I do have to say that I agree with your last post in this thread. I just started the series of quests, but honestly, it feels like a recycled story. I didn't actually pay attention to the release of Neo City when it was first created, so I didn't actually know that they changed the storyline, but eh. Can't do much about that. I do, however, look forward to the bosses--them being weaker means that I can actually fight them now.

It has no lasting value though. A few hours tops, and it might as well never have existed.

They could of made it an event map for all I care.

is there anywhere i can find all of Neo Tokyo's quests? Just wondering what you need to get for them, i enjoy doing quests with others and it'd have been way better if the quests were hard, not hard like the stupid slimes paper quests, but hard because of the monsters so u feel that u have to party with someone to do them, always been better that way. And i guess i agree on Neo City being better for the majority than Neo Tokyo. Its sad but most people dont even care about the story lol so its not a problem for them. I would love those flying monsters and everything else at Neo City to have the hp of Neo Tokyo monsters. Hell i remember Neo Tokyo has those Overlords that do Zombify? everywhere and i would love to have them everywhere with that hp just to make it hard but thats just me ._.. Why couldnt they just lower the bosses HP and dmg?, they even changed the map where u fight them to a flat map making it even more boring... sad, not even drops or anything.

Neo Tokyo does have some purpose in JMS; the pure iruvata spawning map in akihabara is common and popular for high leveled training; she also drops the super snowboard, the best snowboard in JMS. Also, blaze core was often used for exp farming. It isn't the OMG GREAT SOLUTION, but you basically stand in one place and kill a boss that doesn't attack and only summons that gives great exp. Plus the fact that you can kill it as soon as you leave. The downside is you have to have a party exactly of six to enter, but there isn't a delay between killing and re-entering. Neo Tokyo weapons are also great for some classes, but only some. There is also the Tokyo Messiah medal, for killing bergamot everyday for 27 days in a row, it is currently the best medal in the game that isn't an event and is available to everyone. 2/2/2/2 and 1 attack and magic.

____

Neo Shitty is... shitty. Tokyo is better, but is not for everyone. It just seems as a good alternative to pink bean in an ultimate goals list, and in the end more useful in the end. Key word being end.

I totally agree with everything you said. Maybe I exaggerated in the first post, saying that the area COMPLETELY sucks. Well, it sucks storyline wise and yeah, as CarrionCrow said, it is:

CarrionCrow Wrote:Uninspired, hasty, silly and useless. The story and use of the NPCs was so unprofessional and infantile that any godforsaken p-server manager could have crapped out a better area while doing the kossack dance playing kalinka with his pube hairs.

Still, there are some positive things of it, such as instanced maps for the bosses and the monsters/bosses not being overpowered. If only were they able to make maps a little more decent like in the original version (seeing Neo City's maps makes me think that they rushed everything and made everything in one day), didn't place NPCs in the strangest and most senseless places, didn't copy our I.AM.Robots (they don't fit for that area at all IMO) and our Jack Barricade and didn't make such a rushed storyline, Neo City would just be awesome.
