What is wrong with Barney and Mr. Rogers?
#1
This might sound trite and childish, but I think about this sometimes and it doesn't make sense. Ever since I was in elementary school, kids were ripping on Barney as a homosexual pedophile disgusting beast. I think most of us have heard the caricature of his song: "I love you, you love me, Barney has the HIV." Mr. Rogers gets something similar, being considered a wimpy goody-goody two shoes that's made entirely of bull$hit. They're not "cool." Well, wtp is "cool?" I am 28, so I am thinking about wife, kids, etc. And now I am thinking -- what would I want them watching? Barney and Mr. Rogers, or Anna Nicole Smith, P Diddy or some Super Bowl "wardrobe malfunction" starring Justin Timberlake.

I don't really consider Barney a homo pedo anymore, now that I've seen all the alternatives.

What about you?

Ask DualReaver about it.

I guess a purple dinosaur that's friends with the kids just automatically triggers the pedophile idea.

I was always down with Mr. Rogers. Watched him all the time. Downright wholesome. Barney... eh. Creepy. Not necessarily homo, I just don't think he clicked at all with the macho ideal that starts to hit the moment you have start to have a group of peers in school. Barney didn't homo the world, the world homo'd Barney. The same could be said for Mr. Rogers, but I'm down with Mr. Rogers. And I just don't like Barney.

Barney was mainly disliked for his overly large use of the words "friendship" and "love." They're perfectly fine for young kids.

Except me. I'm the Barney exception.

I've got an army, and you've got Barney
I've got a shot gun, and you don't got one
If you don't get off, I'm going shoot you~
Singing this land was made for me not you.

In my defense I was in fifth grade. Singing mandatory monotone songs repetitively gets to you after doing it over three years in elementary school.
