My 'plan' for my Night Walker.
#1
Having a lot of experience playing Assassins (DEXless, Low-DEX, reg-DEX, high DEX, you name it), and having trained a Rogue all the way up to Night Lord, I'm hoping that by using my own experience and knowledge, that this will work.

Quote:Lv 30: 1 Flash Jump (1)
Lv 31: 1 Vampire (1), 2 Flash Jump (3)
Lv 32: 3 Flash Jump (6)
Lv 33: 3 Flash Jump (9)
Lv 34: 3 Flash Jump (12)
Lv 35: 3 Flash Jump (15)
Lv 37: 3 Mastery (3)
Lv 38: 2 Mastery (5) , 1 Critical (1)
Lv 39: 3 Claw Booster (3)
Lv 40: 3 Claw Booster (6)
Lv 41: 3 Critical (4)
Lv 42: 3 Critical (7)
Lv 43: 3 Critical (10)
Lv 44: 3 Critical (13)
Lv 45: 2 Critical (15) , 1 FJ (16)
Lv 46: 3 FJ (19)
Lv 47: 1 FJ (20) , 2 Crit (17)
Lv 48: 3 Crit (20)
Lv 49: 3 Crit (23)
Lv 50: 3 Crit (26)
Lv 51: 3 Crit (29)
Lv 52: 1 Crit (MAXED) , 2 Vampire (3)

I have yet to finish it, and before you say:

"You're an idiot for going FJ first"

First of, I've done this before on a Hermit. But I kept my FJ at 12-13 til near 9x. Secondly, I wanted to do this from a different perspective. I didn't want to play the typical build, because it's too expected. I'll only use my Night Walker to do a few things:

1) CPQ
2) LPQ
3) LMPQ
4) OPQ
5) CPQ2
6) More PQs

Reason for 6-booster was because of the 1 minute timer. 1 crit for that passive Critical-rate. At 15, Crit is about .. iirc, 30% chance? Which is almost 1/3 chance to get a Critical per L7. I can't stand playing a character that's slow and has NO mobility. So you might ask "Where's Haste?". Simple. My party members will be the one providing me the Haste. I wanted to max out Vampire before finishing up FJ, but I don't know if Vampire is spammable at Pyramid PQ to be 'effective'. Only reason I would want it to hit '6' enemies is for that PQ, strictly. If it can be spammable at that PQ (effectively...), I will gladly change my entire build.

Secondly. Thinking of using Steelies over every other stars in the game because:

a) NWs =/= NLs, meaning, they don't have Shadow Stars. So more quantity would be nice.
b) I am not spending money to upgrade for more Use slots
c) Steelies looks better than Furies and Ilbies, imo.
d) If I wanted power, I'd go for my Night Lord. And my NL already has 4 sets of Furies, 4 C-ilbies, etc. I wanted to just xfer over stars, but I'd rather my NW have it's own sets. I can afford it.

Now, you may begin by calling me a crazy idiot for doing this.

EDIT: This is nothing more than a Falco to my Fox. Similar attacks, slight differences and variations.

Sacrificing Vampire for Flash jump is dumb.

Once maxed, you're going to fall in love with Vampire, so I suggest maxing it as soon as possible. I haven't tried out the Pyramid PQ crap, but in other areas, Vampire is very much spammable. I'd sometimes watch television while I spammed Vampire in a mob (like Mutaes and Roids), pressing my potion buttons from time to time. I'd gain 30-40% exp when I look at at my screen.

Vampire > Flash Jump.

I think it's spammable to a point. But my question here is, is it effective at Pyramid PQ? Because that would be the only reason I'd get it to a certain level to where it hits '6' monsters. Otherwise, it's useless to me. As for pot-costs, I'm not too worried. I have Mesos, lots. This NW will be nothing more than a funfest for me.

How effective is "effective?"

It does decent damage and will probably be better than L7 at this Pyramid PQ.

Let's put it this way: If you can't get level 1 Vampire to score higher than L7, you're doing it horribly wrong.

In the end, it's your character and its up to you how you build it. But below I'll help you out a bit with my own insight.

However, the build and your attitude regarding it seem to come off a bit selfish, and you should probably consider why other characters and players would want YOU in their party quests. Don't get me wrong, I'm not being mean, but the whole "they can give ME haste" thing won't help you out in the least.

On other notes, vampire is an insane skill but if you plan to only PQ I can't think of many where it would come off as very useful without many mobs. CPQ would be an exception, Vampire is a beast there - you don't punch with it and so mobs that are up in your face are as good as dead, not to mention you won't need to pick up HP potions. Regrettably, it requires mastery for the damage to be very reliable, but I still strongly recommend you reconsider putting it back in early on in your build. Another Con, though, is that it may not be very good at PyPQ, if I remember correctly when I tried it out there on my NW I didn't get any "Cool!" bonuses, which actually led to me getting kicked out before I got to 500 kills. Even adding a point into Avenger didn't help that very much, so I hope that you plan to PyPQ with a party, because soloing will probably not work out.

This is all I needed to know ^. Reason I asked if it was effective at Pyramid PQ was because I originally planned on solo'ing Pyramid-PQ and getting near 1k-2k kills per PQ just for the EXP. I don't know of any Arans (in my guild or BL besides my own Aran...) that's around lv 30-50. So most likely, if I do choose to get Vampire, it would only be useful to me at Pyramid PQ. Of course I am maxing my Vampire and Mastery, but I was going to have both of those a bit late. I didn't get Drain til early 50's on my Assassin (2 years ago?). I'll most likely add in Haste around 52 or so. Going to modify my build now, but I probably won't update it on this thread. Thanks for the critique and advice!

EDIT: Actually, going to cap FJ at 13 (because of what I learned in another thread), and leave it there til I find the need to max it. Until then, I'll work on getting my Crit to level 15, booster to 6, while putting SPs into Vampire and Mastery.
