I just found out and have to laugh

Alright, for the longest time XBox owners rejoiced and continuously bragged about the DLC exclusives for Grand Theft Auto 4. Many of them were convinced it would never come to the playstation because of the $50m microsoft paid rockstar to develop it. I have argued many time that Rockstar cares far too much about sony to hang them out high and dry like that, and just as predicted, Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City will be available for PS3 and PC on March 30th 2010.

While it may have benefited xbox owners to get this content much earlier than playstation owners, sony still wins. They didn't have to pay anything near what Microsoft paid to get this content and will make just as much if not more off of it.

50m is chump change to Microsoft. They were well aware that the PS3 would get the DLCs eventually, just as most Xbox owners were. The profit Microsoft made by having DLCs released periodically is greater than what freeloading Sony could even hope for.

Every xbox owner I've talked to about it has adamantly believed the DLC would be exclusive forever. And I've talked about it lots. Seriously. The number of people who unrealistically believed this is overwhelming. I'm not sure where you get this "most xbox owners were" from because that's definitely not true. The delusions were as thick as the people who believe GMS will get Kaede Castle and Neo Tokyo.

Also lol @ freeloading sony. How many people can you name that actually went out and bought an xbox for that content? Most of the xbox owners I know didn't even bother buying the DLC and they're GTA fans. Not to mention that in every game store I've been to there is an astounding number of used copies of GTAIV for the xbox lining the shelves. Microsoft getting that DLC hardly benefited them in the long run as most people knew or were holding out hope that Sony would get it eventually, and exclusives are only attractive when people believe that they will be exclusive forever. Rockstar's indifference to microsoft probably actually helped Sony overall. This is likely because sony helped build rockstar up into the company they are today. I'd say Microsoft got used.

That would all be true if Ballad or The Lost were both dependant on GTAIV in any way but they're entirely stand alone which essentially makes them new games. Most GTA fans jump for joy at the release of a new game and I don't see this being any different.

I don't know about that. I bought TLAD and enjoyed it, but it was extremely short for a $20(?) DLC. I blew through the story in six hours.

Only 6 hours? Ugh. Well this had better only be like $40 then. I'm not spending $75 on approximately 12 hours of content. I don't even like the idea of spending $40 on that much "content."

I don't see why it would be any higher than $40. Both of the DLCs were $20 individually, I think.

This actually makes me very happy. My 360 crapped out last year and I got a PS3 for Christmas. So now I can play with Gay Tony and the biker dude. lol.

Yeah, I found it pretty funny too. But Sony fanboys always do that with everything they get. WE GET EXCLUSIVE AND YOU DONT DURHUR, then when the 360 gets exclusive they get all butthurt. GTAIV is old news though like Greg says, it would had been awesome for PS3 owners... a year ago.
