So what do you guys think about it? Are you afraid of death itself, or just afraid of what would happen to you after. Personally, the more I think about death and what could happen after, the more afraid I am. Also, how would you prefer to die? (Not that you would want to anytime soon) For me it would be a natural death caused by old age. So what are your opinions? Please don't start arguing about heaven, hell and religion, I'm pretty sure there's another thread for that.

I'm just afraid of what's going to happen after. For all we know it could just be some eternal black void. I don't really look forward to it, but it's inevitable.

I'm scared of death, but not too scared about the after life. ^^

I'm not scared, just curious. I wonder what it's like. I'd like to die in my sleep when I'm old; doesn't matter how, just in my sleep.

Lmao, what a way to go xD.
Personally, I'd like to die a painless death - most likely in my sleep.

I can't say I have any plans to die any time soon. Or ever, for that matter. ;P I'm not terribly afraid of it, it's just not on my to-do list right now.
Having said that, when I do die, I want it to be by a cataclysmic meteor strike. Or a ruptured spleen. Or both.

Death and what lays afterward is a concept in my tribe we're prepared for slowly from the beginning. Its never the end, life will go on in some form in a continuing journey of existence only without the bare shackles of a human body.
I'm content with that assumption as its better(to me anyhow) than the atheists theory with life ending at death and somehow I like it better than most organized religion theories with the finding a utopia or eternal paradise in whatever heaven or boiling or burning in some kind of hell or painful torture. I would rather continue just living and moving on with my existence in another form rather than settling down in some Nirvana for the rest of my days.
As for the actual dying thing, I wouldn't mind going out fighting or in my sleep.

I wonder what it's like after you die, sort of like sleeping, and I wonder about reincarnation. I'm not afraid of it, however I will admit I have some sort of fear of being put in a coffin and buried, alive.

I don't think so much about what happens after I die. I think more about the way I'll die. I'd like to die peacefully in my sleep, or maybe while doing a heroic and noble thing like saving someone (as long as it doesn't hurt that much).
Also, I once read in a joke book or something and it said something along the lines of this: "Wherever people go after they died, it must be good since they never came back."
You can probably refute it with whatever other theories about death people have made, but that sounds rather nice.

Death seems so intangible...
So NOT there...
When I think of it...
It seems very MEH Whatever...
...
As for HOW- Total cliche` Kickboxer style-- Like in a brutal death fight- and having my twin brother avenge my death!!
Or something like that- OH
Bungee jumping and having the cord snap- That would be soooo SCARY!

I'd like to go out with a bang. Something so quick that I won't know what hit me. Get hit by a train maybe? Plane crash?
The afterlife is gonna suck. Heaven seems boring and Hell seems like torture. Reincarnation ftw?

I've been dead for 13.730.000.000 years already (Aprox. age of the universe). Only the last 25 years I've been alive.
Therefore I don't fear death, since I can't recall that the previous 13.730.000.000 years were unpleasant...
For me death is the same state as before you were born, there is nothing, just eternal nothingness, just nice relaxed and calm.
Not a thing to worry about!

Most people on these boards are young. People in their teens, twenties and thirties do not think about death too much. As you approach sixty, and your body is breaking down, then you start increasingly to think of death. Older people think more of God and the afterlife, and regardless of religion my personal observation has been that more older people spend time in houses of worship. One older person described to me that he was constantly stressed out by the thought process regarding death, until he simply resigned himself to the fact that it will happen, and was able to go on with his life.
I might add that to die peacefully in your sleep is pretty much a blessing, (though I'd say otherwise is true if there's any chance of calling the ambulance and saving the person's life.) Spending ten minutes writhing on the ground as your heart slowly shuts down is not my idea of a dignified finish to one's life.

I'm not afraid of it. If it's going to happen, it's going to happen. I have been close to it before so I'm just not scared of it.

I don't fear death, I've seen it, & have been close to it. I've worked in a funeral home for quite a bit, heard alot of the stories of how the people died, some VERY young, some old. I would want to die in my old age & peacefully, & have my soul be sent to a better place. Death is inevitable, you can't escape it.

Im not afraid of death, but the thought of what happens afterwards scares the sense out of me, eternal blackness with nothing possibly not even a conscience...just the thought of nothing but darkness. I had dreams where I thought I had died because my own voice questioning where I was at the time. someone hold me ;-;
