Friend having problem logging on maple

My friend uses windows XP SP3. He's having problems playing maple.

After redownloading the game this night for the aran patch, he goes into the game and he keeps getting disconnected about 30 seconds after imputing his password/PIN etc.
The message for this one is the typical "You have been disconnected from the game"

The error he gets is this, when windowing the game.

It has been like that for quite some time, the same problem through several game versions (so it's not a problem of this version).

He has tried disabling firewall, reinstalling maple, etc.

Any idea what this could be?

I get that too- on Win7.

Yeah, for my friend it's the same thing.

The real problem is disconnecting 30 seconds after doing the ID/pass/PIN thing
