omg, I've always wished that one of these were created. It's so annoying when you're sitting there at the character creation screen, trying to think up IGNs, and then it kicks you off.

If this ends up working properly, you'll have my thanks. I'm sure it'll be useful to almost anyone that plays.

How does this work? Rankings I assume?

Level 10 and under's don't appear on there so it's going to return false positives for name-mules and other junk characters. And technically just searching site rankings does the same thing.

Still, it's nice. The site rankings are pretty slow/clunky to browse in my experience.

It semi works. It doesn't sense under level 10 and off rankers.

Pro tip: If you restart MS and don't log in any other characters before going to the character select screen, you'll never d/c.


It still takes a really long time to check out IGNs though, which is why I usually look on rankings to cut back on what I bother to try.

So annoying when all those beta players took those igns and never freaking came back. Most of them probably don't know what the thing even means. It just sounded cool

Neither of them can identify whether a name is reserved due to name-change, just if it's occupied presently. Best the new one can do is record that a name was used at one time but presently isn't visible on ranks (could be banned, could be reserved, could be open).

I can't even fathom where the "owner" info is going - having other users supply that sort of thing is a recipe for drama.

there's I guess an "exploit" where I can grab user emails and full name right through the nexon site. Works based off their forums, like how random user Ids were present through http headers back then. Of course I won't go into detail but let's just say their forums are extremly flawed

Aside from the privacy violation implicit there, at least 80% of that info is garbage. Most people don't use their real name for one reason or other, I know I have at least six names spread through my accounts.

Lol it is but may be useful in contacting the owner of the ign to delete the char? And don't worry, I've alrewady sent details to their automate customer support team on how it's done and how to fix it.

I don't plan on leaving email. Moreas just first name and scan emails through aim/fb/myspace and leave a link. I'll send a delete from list email to the user of course

I can guarantee anyone asking me to delete one of my characters because they feel more entitled to use the name is going straight to my garbage bin and can't imagine even 20% of the world doing otherwise, especially since each account required it's own email address and the vast number of accounts out there were created using throw-away emails noone will ever check.

Assuming email is still accurate, and being checked, and person even remembers pass and pin and is feeling generous.
