Dragonika and Dragon Rider: The Black Mage's appearance has been revealed!

With the recent release of the two new bosses, Deuragonika (which I think can be easily translated to Dragonika) and Dragon Rider, the appearance of the Black Mage has been revealed.

Well, it's not confirmed, but I'm 99% sure that the guy who rides Dragonika and the one in the regen animation of Dragon Rider is the Black Mage.

In fact, Dragonika has the Black Mage on its back all the time, so yeah. I guess this is the first time they show us the real appearance of the Black Mage, other than in the Aran videos and such, where you couldn't see him well.

It doesn't look really strong at all. Sure, when Dragonika dies, it's obvious that the Black Mage doesn't die as well, but he just disappears. But he just looks not too strong. I thought he was going to be stronger than Pink Bean.. and I still think he could possibly be.

What do you think?

Assuming this is the Black Mage, I don't think he looks weak at all. If anything he does look strong. Also Mages don't really look strong, they don't even add Str. Pink Bean didn't look strong either. We'll have to wait for me to make assumptions though.

No, I do not think it is the black mage. Look at the HP of it. It's extremely lower then PB. I think it is certainly someone trying to res him, but it obviously cannot be him, he does not EXIST anymore. Remember, he is dead.

I think this is just a higher leveled minion.
If I were on the Dev Team, Black Mage would be the ULTIMATE boss: Unsurpassable.That means you'd have to be level 200 just to have the chance to fight him.

Thinking with Nexon's mindset, this boss would come out during Maple's Decline. There's more to a boss than how hard it is. New bosses could come out with various challenges, although less challenging than the Black mage, without being less interesting.

I don't agree with this theory; and I agree with what Sarah said: just because the guy's got a similar cloak doesn't make him the Black Magician. From what's given, this guy just appears to appear to be a traitor Halfring who may or may not work for the Black Magician. If it truly were the Black Magician, I would have expected to see maybe some related official announcements or teasers about this coming up; like we did for Pyramid Monster Clean-Up.

My money's on Halfring is an Evan who betrayed his society.

I was hoping for the overlayed animation that showed a bit more of his face and such, but I faintly remember him, thought someone would start something off of it. ;[

The Black Magician? Here? Come on. The alleged FINAL BOSS of MapleStory gets thrown into a teeny little Party Quest after making a new class? Thrown IN? Come on, Nexon's gonna devote at least a whole patch to the baddie if it means the grand freaking FINALE... o_o

Problem is we can't be sure this is the Black Mage or that there is no story or reason behind him being there assuming it is him. And if you look at the death animation only the Dragon dies. BM could just be testing you or partially revived. We dunno.

It's silly to assume this is the Black Mage just because it wears a cloak.

They could make a snail stronger than pink been if they maximized all values that a mob can have if they wanted to.

Looks mean nothing when determining difficulty of a mob. I thought that lesson was learned with PB release.

I have my doubts that it'll be the big bad Black Mage. Maybe an Evan who got corrupted maybe?

Looks appealing regardless of the story behind it anyways.
