so my work was made a featured...

and i dont feel i deserve it. there are just too many flaws with it. i mean, the images arent fully captured, its written in the first-god damned-perspective, typos abound, and other reasons that make me just overall not satisfied.

id link it here to you all who read this to see, but it has my name and all on it, and id rather not do that. however, i will say this; i should be honored by this, but im not. is that a good thing, to not be satisfied with something even though others whom you dont know who are nor number to what amount to judge these things think youre work is deserving of praise, or am i just crazy? i seriously have no idea who/what opted to make it the featured piece, but i feel others should deserve it more than me.

As far as I can tell this seems to be standard in the arts. I know I can't stand pretty much anything I draw, but when I show other people they're all like "OMG AWESUM@@"; even when I point out the numerous flaws that are glaringly obvious to me, the response is either "I don't see it" or "Oh come now that's unnoticeable". To me, everyone elses work always looks better than mine, but what're the chances they feel the same about their piece, what if they can see numerous flaws in it that get glazed over through outside observation?

They've got to see the work in its rough state and have executed every aspect of its creation and finishing. Naturally flaws are going to be more obvious to them than someone who's merely seen it for a few seconds/minutes or only read through it once.

Regardless, clearly whoever put your work up seems to think it's worth the recognition, regardless of it's apparent flaws. Sometimes it's good to just think that maybe you did something right.

We all have our own standards for judging our own work so it's not uncommon that people are overly critical of themselves. Being humble is nice but if your work is recognized for something worthy flaunting, gloat a bit and move on.
