Hero class reference picture analysis.
#1
Stupid title, i know. Didn't know how to put it differently.

Well, my main point in this thread is to analyse the picture many forum users uses as reference to decide what weapons the different Hero classes wield.
The picture

This picture came together with Aran, and it shows 5 characters, including Aran, fighting the Black Mage (from here on called BM). Many Maplers immediately though that this picture shows the 5 Hero classes fighting the BM. Well, I believe this is wrong.
The only clear Hero we see in this picture is Aran, the one standing in the front. The rest might as well just be fillers/adventurers/background people fighting him aswell. I have a couple of reasons to belive this:

1. There is no Evan class (2nd Hero as far as we know) in this picture. Yes, there is a wand/staff look alike there, but that might be a Spear aswell. Also, no Dragon? (if there was a Dragon there we would probably belive it was a Bishop anyways)

2. Do you see a Bandit/Assasin? I do not. What i see, is a sword user that is standing a little in front of the Aran.
Why is this a sword user, and not a dagger wielding Bandit you say? Well, first of all i see a pretty big shield that actually looks like the level 120 Warrior shield, Gellerhead.
Second I see a sheath for the sword, not very Bandit-ish.

3. It is believed that the Hero classes will use the opposite weapons as Cygnus characters. If so, why is there a Bowman and a Knuckle wielder?

4. About the Knuckle wielder, people claim that he is not using Knuckles. They say he wears two Guns.
First of all, I do not think that the creators of Maplestory would bother making an enteirely new set of weapons just for one class. They did not do it with the Cygnus knights, and not with the first two Heroes (Aran and Evan) Second, where the eff do you see these Guns? I can't even see an outline of a gun shape.

My conclusion: I think this picture is not meant to show the 5 Heroes killing the Black Mage, its just a part of the Aran intro. Who says that the 5 Heroes fought the Black Mage alone?
I am not saying you guys are wrong, but im saying some of the claims here lacks foundation. Lets just wait until Kmst launches the rest of the Heroes.

PS: I posted this on Lolmarket aswell, didn't steal! D:

I don't think anyone should be using that as a reference to future...anything. Honestly. It was probably only meant to show the Aran and his polearm, nothing more in-depth than that.

While I think that the pic doesn't show the 5 heroes,

where the heck did you get this theory from? o_O

Doesn't Evan already prove it wrong, considering that KoC blaze wizards can use both wands and staffs?

WIth mages, it's elements, not items. Still doesn't explain anything due to multitype Evans.

Why can't the hero with the shield...just be a Hero with a Shield using Brandish?

Who says they can't be plain ol' classes? Why can't the dude with the Bow just be a Ranger? Or better yet, a Wind Archer, since the entire point of Cygnus Knights were to combat the Black Mage anyway?

Knights of Cygnus are a new class in the chronology of the MapleStory world and hence why they can't participate in Ellin Forest PQ.

I don't think this image isn't meant to be speculated into much depth, and merely just cool concept art to show the Aran and their polearm. Nothing says they can't be Brawlers, regular Archmages, Bowmasters, and Shadowers, or its possible that Nexon didn't think that far into the future to plan what all the Hero classes would be like in the end.

this is just a promo image... that is all

Nexon said they were still deciding on how to make the classes, and if they were going to at all, so it's safe to assume the picture is non-canonical.

They could make double weilding possible... I mean all you have to do is allow the use of 2 weapons, but cut the individual weapon attack in half while it's equiped and voila you have the same weapon attack as a single weapon, except for the fact they won't do it cause it's too time consuming.

is it just me, or does the sword sheath in that picture seem to be on the wrong side? dont you wear it on the opposite side of the hand you hold it on? Be hard to draw otherwise...

If it makes sense its not nexon.

I've thought that too. It's probably just to show off the Aran and the other classes weren't even thought of much yet.

Well, all I can say is that Nexon are planning to release 2 more new classes next year.

This.

They just need an image to fill in the spot, the highlight of the picture is most probably the Aran.

Why the heck is a warrior (melee) at the far end?

Guys stop trying to think you're some sort of genius and trying to make out things in the promotional image that aren't true =__=

Seriously for all we know the other classes weren't even thought up yet so just forget about the picture and whatever nonsense you think you can make out of it. When the new class data comes out then you'll know whats coming next.

Haha I was thinking the same thing when reading the stupid threads on other forums about the picture.

Yeah you're clearly going to stop people from speculating. How about letting people enjoy expressing their ideas? Stop trying to make yourself look good by trashing people who have imaginations.

That being said, I don't think there's much to make of the image personally, but I enjoy the conjecture. Like my pirate idea (Kyrin's dad being the legendary), it's fun to speculate.
