OS : Dual booting Windows Vista 64 bit, Windows 7 32 bit build 7100.
Okay so like the above says, I'm dual booting Vista and Windows 7 and Maple is behaving strangely. Here's what happens. I'm hunting MT-09's for coins and randomly without warning, my keys start to behave strangely. Esc causes Maple to minimize and enter causes it to switch between window and full screen mode, depending what it's in at the time. It seems to correct itself after about 20 minutes but this is really ridiculous. It seemed to start happening after the latest patch.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Make sure you're not accidentally activating something similar to Sticky Keys.

Nope, I'm sure it's not sticky keys. The absolute first thing I do when I install a new OS is disable sticky keys and filter keys, no joke.

I assume it's worked "perfectly" and just suddenly produced a random error...
correct?

Looks like there's something to the effect of your alt key being held down...not sure what the exact problem is, though. Good luck.

There's no error, it just happens without warning. The only error I've had with Maple on Win7 is MSVCR.dll or whatever missing when switching to window mode. I've fixed that though.
I'm starting to think it's a glitch with my hog? I'm moving on and off of it continuously while hunting there. And I've only experienced it there.

is it an "absolute switch"
as in are u guaranteed to get the keys effect changed for certain keys
like:
Space bar at one point will always eventually do "X" and nothing more (example)

Yes. Esc will always minimize Maple when this happens and Enter will always switch view modes. As far as I know, no other keys are affected.

You said it isn't sticky keys, but it's got to be an alternate key mode of some sort. Maybe your ALT key is getting stuck in your keyboard, or something similar.

or do you not use "other" programs enough to give me a confident answer...

I dunno about it getting stuck in my keyboard because I can still jump. Also, it affects Firefox too while this problem occurs. When I got this error I couldn't type anything. It kept opening up my history bar at the top. Actually, if anyone wants to test this since I'm not on Windows atm, can you please open Firefox, hold alt and type something in the Google search bar?

MapleStory, Firefox, and Chrome are the only applications I have installed on Windows 7. So, nope I can't really say.

It could also be CONTROL. I'll see if anything happens though.
Edit: It's your ALT key. Somehow it's getting locked, gotta be a key setting somewhere causing this to happen.

Hmm okay so I guess I'll just have my brother use my PC for a while and see if anything similar comes up while using it normally without playing MapleStory.

Ah here's some things u can try....
- Adjust key settings (might be set to something "weird" set to default and see if the problem persist)
- Update Drivers
- Check the plugs (make sure everything is plugged in)
- Check for physical damage
- Re-install your keyboard
- If the problem "grew", as in more and more keys begin to gain that error then you may have to invest in a new keyboard....

I have the exact same problem as you do. I know it has nothing to do with the keys getting stuck because I use a wireless keyboard on my laptop and when the problem happened, I tested it on my laptop keyboard and the keys responded the same way. I've also updated the drivers, so it has nothing to do with that. I'm not sure if it's coincidence, but it started happening when I purchased the wireless keyboard for my computer. What kind of keyboard do you use? I'm using the HP Wireless Elite. I'm also using Vista. I hope someone can pin point the problem, cause it really is a pain having to restart maple every time it happens.

I'm using the keyboard that came with my crappy Acer desktop. It's not wireless. Also, I submitted a ticket asking Nexon about this, hopefully I'll get some good advice other than REINSTALL!!!. After all, I did say I reinstalled it in the ticket.

I have a wireless logitech keyboard and this happens, too.
I can't chat and the only way to fix this is to restart.

Smash the keys on your keyboard really hard. Repeat this several times. This is not a joke.
