"The" Monster Hunter Freedom Unite discussion thread
#1
Disclaimer: Because I fcking say so. SP needs one. If anybody wants to object to this, well, too bad. Either this or I start posting 100+ Tales series videos and spam the funhouse, and make it worse than what mark and greg could do, combined.

This thread is mostly for MHFU discussion, any other MH series discussion is also relevant. Anyone is free to join discussions, as long as you don't "troll" the thread in any awkward directions. Yes, that means some of you fckers. /srsbsnshere

SO YEAH, guys, I got one more quest to go til I get ready to fight Tigrex, doh hohoho. Gotta slay the Shogun Ceanataur, what a peach it is. RUNS AROUND, DIGS UNDER THE GROUND, STICK IT'S GODDAMN CLAWS ON THE CEILING, MAKING ME CHASE IT AROUND, FUUU---------

Wait, about the Kyrin, are you killing it because it's an Urgent quest..? Or is it one of those optional ones? If you can't kill it with the Hammer, try switching to a long-ranged weapon, might work for you? That's what I did when I couldn't handle that Basarios with the Longsword or DS.

No, just because. And I don't really find another weapon comfortable as the hammer. The only one is the Lance but I can't bother to be a lot slower. It just doesn't fit my gamestyle. Eventually I'll find a way to kill it properly without using too much pots.

Oh, the f'ucker doesn't react to Shock Traps and/or Pitfalls. Serious problem :/

What? It doesn't? oh, wait, Pitfalls only works on:

-Heavy monsters, especially winged-wyverns

Shock Traps only works on most monsters that aren't of electric-element, me thinks. Only Khezu and Red Khezu fell for it, so far... Won't work on Gypceros. So.. hmm..... Also, yeah, I see. If you're comfortable with Blunt weapons, just get better at using them, I suppose. That's your best bet, in that case! Right now, I didn't realized how easy it was to make an Eager Cleaver, so I'm going to make one asap. I have like 100+ Earth Crystals, Disk Stones, and a hella ton of Machalite... Ores? So .. yeah -gets on that- Gonna help me kill me Shogun Ceanataur and Tigrex!

Yeah, the Eager Cleaver is a good sword for the little materials you need to craft it.

So well, I'm decided, I'm going to try getting to 7* quests tonight! It's gonna be hard :/

Good luck, Rob!

Did the '4' prerequisite quests in order to fight Tigrex, I just got an Urgent Quest from the Village Elder asking me to fight Tigrex, hohoho. Gonna kick his ass on the weekends, since I have homework and pomegranate to do tonight and tomorrow.

Let me.. count from the 'top' of my head:

BladeMaster:
-Daimyo Hermitaur set (full) <---- I add as much Def as I can into this, but I'm thinking about switching that with all Health jewels, because +1 def < +1 Health. My main armor.
-Khezu set (top, bottom, legs, gauntlet, but no helmet) <--- for fighting Red Khezu or any other electric-attributed monsters
-Yian Kut-Ku (full) <---- for fire elemental areas, I also equip this set with +Fire resis.

Gunner:
-Yian Kut-Ku (full) <--- all slots has a Health jewel on it, for the purpose of having maxed health and long survival rates against some of the larger bosses, and I believe the helmet has a +1 att jewel on it.

Did you try making the Rathalos set? It's pretty damn good for now. It has Att up [large] and up to this point I have 303 def just from the set >Big Grin

I attempted, won't work. I'm missing Rathalos Webbing or something, and there's a certain item I can't obtain from a 2-star quest Rathalos in the guild. So I'd have to fight him from the Village Elder quests instead, and I'll be able to make the armor eventually.

Uhm... I don't think so. I made the armor with the Guild Quests o_o

All the items needed are from Rathalos low-rank afaik.

While I love MH to spark discussion, I can't read posts like that. Rolleyes

Monoblos armor is a good choice, except because at that point, the Rathalos/Azure Rathalos or Pink Rathian set is better.

Wait, I need more info.

What Hunter Rank (HR) are you and which Elder Chief's Quests are you doing? 3*~4* Stars?

Lemme give you some advice.

Also, what weapon type do you use?

im on the 4* quests atm ive been killing the monoblo to try and get the whole
armour set its not easy Hurt
using the Eager cleaver beacuse i hear it is more effective than
ice (blango destroyer)
i think thsts weird bcuz youd think that ice would do more :f6: or its just me aha

atm on my guild card i have :
15 on GS
51 on LS
12 on lance
9 on hammer
17 on hunting horn
48 with light BW
23 with heavy BW
19 with Bow
14 with GL
3 with SS
and 5 with dual

i like to mix it up a little bit instead of sticking to one single type
but recently killing the monoblos you can stand on ledge(cant member zone but one with ledge Tongue )
and when it gets stuck smash the horn with a blade so the past few tymes
i been using a LS ..

yeah i need help!

all my m8 does is brag Hurt aha but on some missions i end up not dieing at all
even thought hed on G stuff...

Well, if you are on 4* quests, you're already capable of sticking to one weapon. I say this because you'll have more trouble trying to forge a lot of weapons than just 2~3 types.

I, for example, use mainly Hammers, and sometimes Long Swords or Great Swords. I have like 5 usable Hammers, and like 2 LS and 2 GS.

After you kill Tigrex in 4* Urgent quest, you should be able to forge Tigrex sets, which would also help you a lot.

ooohh okkie
i dont really know what to stick to tho
because offline i use the longsword and hunting horn
but online im the support gunner so i stick to the bowgun
but i also like how the lance and gunlance works but i havent got a strong GL
i have the rampart which has 299 RAW and i think green sharpness
and the
im so undecisive! i llike them all!! Cool

but your right when you say its hard forging them all

but i just dont know what to use Hothead

Well, I do realize it's hard to choose. Let me explain my case with weapon usage.

I first chose Hammers because of raw damage and good sharpness overall. (that's because Hammer combo: 3 hits, Super pound: 2 hits, Golden golf-club swing: 5 hits, thus keeping sharpness better). Then I had to choose another one, and I chose Long Swords, in this section I'd let you Khoi guide you, since he mains Long Swords.

Also, when online, you don't need to be always support. After you find a decent sharpness (green and above) weapon you can deal decent damage to most HR 1~4 monsters.
