Just died at 9:07..
My question to you guys is, was this fair? Do you believe any human being should get killed?
I mean, yeah he killed other people, but the worst punishment any man could get is life inprisonment...

I was in DC during the DC sniper.
Let's see... a lot of people were really scared, a friend of mine didn't even wnat to go jogging... these two killers drove around, murdering people... finally a truck driver saw them, and he used his truck to block them from escaping. They killed people and they terrorized a lot of other people. Why not emphasize THE VICTIMS' rights, over a textbook domestic terrorist's?

Still doesn't mean he should've been killed... Not needed really, just let God deal with him.

People are people. :|
Just because we disagree with his morals and actions doesn't mean he should die.

Capital punishment threads? In my SP?
In any case, I don't trust any human institution with the power to take life away, regardless of the circumstances.
But that's just me.

What gives you the right to chose who lives and who dies?

Eye for an eye. No one gave him the right to take the lives of innocent people.
Sorry, but he deserved to die for killing those people. He shouldn't be allowed to live the rest of his life in a prison, where our taxes are paying for him to have food and shelter.

As genzo said eye for an eye. If you kill someone and take others lives you should willingly know yours now can be taken aswell. He has judged himself and thusly killed off from the human race.

Revenge has no place in the justice system.

Well, we can't anticipate crimes that haven't been committed yet, all we can do is catch the criminal and punish him for what he HAS done. Punishment is society's revenge for the crime. Therefore, revenge is the whole point of the criminal justice system.

Lol.
At any rate I remember listening to the news each morning before I got to school. It was quite a hot topic. I feel nothing that he's dead now.

To be honest, I am tired and I am going to sleep in a few minutes, that's why I didn't read your link.
People's views on CP (rofl capital punishment/child porn have the same initials) were formed before that article. I know mine were.

Revenge and hatred should be considered base emotions ranking on about the same level as greed and envy. Such emotions need to be kept under the control of rational thought processes. The death penalty doesn't deter crime and murder, so what does it do? Like Frank Castle once said, "IT'S NOT REVENGE... IT'S PUNISHMENT."
Of course, society needs to protect itself from criminals. This is done by improving law-enforcement methods, correcting social conditions that contribute to crime, incarcerating those who are a danger to society, rehabilitating criminals who aren't incorrigible, and deterring people from becoming lawbreakers. The death penalty is not a solution to anything. Instead, it's a violent and hateful act that makes the world worse. Really, anyone who's pro-death penalty just wants to see someone die for what they did, or they just flat-out don't care.

I don't like the death penalty, but at the same time I don't think this guy is worth arguing over. The magnitude of his actions makes people irrational and I can accept that even if I don't understand it.
