lolBasil.
It's really wishful thinking, but something that only caters to less than 1% of the entire Maple population? No thanks. You can't even begin to comprehend the training monster that will be needed for the brutal 2 billion+ EXP per level. The highest level normal monsters we have are in the level 130 range. How are we suppose to scale level 180+ monsters? You can bet those badass mofos will be dealing 10k+ damage easily, need over 300 accuracy to hit, and have over 500k HP. Good bye to ranged people training, and give melee people a hard time when they need to pot every other hit?

Let the people who do the extractions here on KMS confirm this.
The very fact Cygnus will have it's level cap raised to 180 is already Grade A bull. What the hell will a Cygnus have 180 extra SP to dump in? It's wishful thinking made up by people with too much time on their hands.
Quote:A recent patch has been made to one of the KMS test servers (thanks to my friend, who will be unnamed, who works for Wizet as a debugger) with very crude new elements of a 5th job system. Now, as you may have heard, rumors say that at some point in the future, as more high level players become staple, the level cap will be increased. If you have ever heard this (and I am just speculating of course), you may have guessed that this means more skill points. But skill points for what? Well, 5th job of course. And this makes sense. For a company to prosper, they must continuously integrate new material into a proven system (ie Maple Story). As far as details go, I can tell you as much as I can remember from our conversation, which was about an hour long. Unfortunately, I couldn't get everything out of him, nor can I tell you every single detail (as I don't have a perfect memory). So with further adu, here is what I got.
-Level cap will be raised to 250 prior to 5th job being released. This allows players to be motivated to level up PRIOR to the advancement. How long in advance? I don't know but I am guessing a month-3. Once this patch arrives, any players who are 181+ will be given skill reset points (3 per level above 180. I think they did this so it will be fair for people who never thought there would be a 5th job. P.S., these will be for 4th job skills only). However, they are doing this only once when the level cap patch comes out to give people advanced warning. However, people who still put points into 4th job skills after level 180, after this patch happens, will be stuck with them. If you did this -- buy NX to reset.
-5th job will be level 180-250. That means 120-180 (60 levels) for 4th job, and 70 levels for 5th job.
-Cygnus Knights level cap will be raised to 180. Makes sense now that there is that spot for 4th job skills, huh?
-Although he could not give me specific names for all the classes, he assured me that 5th job would be simply another spawn off of 4th job. However, there is a twist. Many of the 4th job classes that are considered popular now, will have relatively nerfed 5th job skills. And of course, vice versa. Will this be the era of the Paladin and Shadower? Expect this. They did this when 4th job came out. And it gives good incentive for a lot of people to make new characters, play more, and of course, buy more NX. Expect Nexon in particular to take advantage of this with a whole slew of events rigged towards 5th job. Of course, KMS will have this prior to Nexon, so there will be more to come.
-Think Pinkbean is hard now? Expect much worse. By the time people take advantage of 5th job, Pinkbean will be like our Zakum... well, maybe not this weak, but you know.
-Damage cap raised (didn't ask how high).
-Speed/Jump cap raised.
-HP/MP cap will be raised as well. I know, a lot of people can't take advantage of this without HP washing, but A) remember more levels = more hp, and B) 5th job skills -- onto this next...
-Many team based skills will be added. I know this sounds strange, because the typical team based skills were just party buffs. But some of the skills in 5th job will rely on different classes using skills together at the same time (give or take 1-2 seconds). Expect jobs that were rather unused to start to become welcome, as bossing the big bad monsters will start to rely less on single character's DPM, and more on having a mixed parties with different tasks. On a side note, many of the lower level skills will be upgraded as well to give players more uniqueness to their builds. For instance, steal won't be a useless skill anymore. Nor will shield mastery. I don't know which other ones, but I just know that Wizet wants more unique characters built for different purposes, and not just DPM. Of course, damage will matter, but it will matter more so with a mixed group of characters, and not just NLs+BM/MM to maximize damage.
-Hundreds of new quests (some related, some not to 5th job).
-New equips for all jobs. A huge increase of pirate apparel, include a few gender specific clothes.
-New towns/cities, training maps/monsters.
-Will be easier to level. As you may have noticed, when MS first began, exp was much harder to get than it is now. Heck, Fangblade took how many months/years to get to 200? As soon as pirates came out, a level 200 was born only a few months later. And with 2x, family 2x, events, new easy training places with tons of exp, no wonder! Well, it's not stopping now. Getting to 200 won't be as difficult as it used to be either. I had this concern, and my friend told me that getting to 200 will be like getting to 160 now. Of course, this is just his guess, but think about it. Wizet WANTS people to spend time leveling. It's how they profit. And at the rate they are going, in a few years, maybe leechers will be leeching to 180 instead of 120. So while it may have been a huge burden to get to 200, this will be much easier, especially with new skills = more damage = more exp/min (especially when bigger and badder monsters with more exp come). So don't get discouraged with the thought of 50 more levels of grinding :/
-Night/Day system. Supposedly many outdoor maps have been revamped to have multiple forms of scenery based on the time of day it is (the server's time). Expect a much larger MS download to (this whole post is fictional, fyi, but really, wouldn't that be great if something like this was in the works?) accompany all the new image files associated with this change. Only a few pieces of the storyline are gametime based, to give more equal opportunities for people who simply cannot log in at certain times to do certain quests.
-A new married couples only PQ which gives an upgrade to your wedding ring (stat bonus!)
Well, that's all I can really remember for now. Let me know if you want to know more and I'll see if I can get some more info soon.

On a serious note, I think it's better that they fix the lower jobs to further enhance the balance between classes before thinking about 5th job, which isn't really necessary consider the HARD work required to even fulfill the prerequisites.
I actually like posting on the Nexon forum since I can provide more info than the regulars, so one day I went there and made a rant in a thread about '5th job'. You can check it out there since my thoughts are basically the same, it's just aimed at a guy instead of a general mood.

AsiaSoft, not Nexon. Which imo means what they say is worth a grain of salt, since they're third party.
I don't think there ever will be a fifth job, but I'm just saying AsiaSoft isn't a great reliable source since they're not part of the real maple development crew.
