I feel bad for the nVidia fanboys.

Well at least ATI is a Monopoly now.

They're only halting motherboards, not cards o.O

Yeah I read the news some days ago, but I think it has to do with a number of factors:

- Most important: Recession -> Less sales for high-end expensive cards.
- More and more gamers stick to consoles (Xbox360 / PS3 / Wii) instead of expensive PC hardware (Xbox360 costs 200 euro, PC costs 1000+ euro).
- Nvidia GT 2xx series (also high-end series) were not that much faster then the 8xxxx / 9xxxx series

--> In the meantime nVidia already have their new "Fermi-Cores" in development, which totally differ from their previous cores. So the GT2xx cores are put in an end-life cycle from now on.

I guess nVidia is just mass dumping their current stockpile of cards and wait for the recession to end to make their comeback with a total new range. My guess is Christmas 2010.

P.S. It's not that you need a high-end card for Maplestory anyway... xD

actually, they halted production due to a lawsuit they are in with Intel, because nVidia wishes to develop an Core i7 chipset, but Intel is saying that their current "contract" or something doesnt cover i7.
