So there's this girl I like..

Funny story, I'll start off with this before I say anything else. Anyways, a week ago, I worked for fun at a place called "The Haunted Trail", which is next to a Municipal Park. I dressed as a girl for a part, in which I get attacked by zombies, etc. But yeah, all of my friends were there to help too. We call it 'The Trail' for short, and basically, people pay 8 dollars or something to enter, and we scare the crap out of them as they walk through a trail or a path through the forest, and the path eventually leads back to the park.

Around 7 PM, a girl named Shanna came. She's an acquaintance that I've met back in High School, and she's also my friend's friend. I don't know her overly well, but we've spoken in the past. Anyways, around 9 PM or so, we both sat at a table and just started talking. I made some funny jokes and she laughed, etc. So I had a good vibe, until..

I noticed she went with some random guy to a car, to get some drinks. So I assumed that tall guy was her boyfriend. Anyways, skipping most of the other details, a couple days after that day.. I went to my friend's house, his name is Kai, and the other guy that went with Shanna, his name is Matt, and he lives with Kai. Anyways, I found out that Matt was gay, when he started making gay jokes.... So I'm like "Uh, wait a sec, you were with Shanna and pomegranate, I thought you two were dating?", so he said "Oh, god, NO~! We're just friends, we just went out to get a couple cans of soda and then came back to the Trail.", so I said "Ah, I see. Hmm!", so I smirked.

I'm wondering if she's single at this point, but it'd be awkward to ask. I'm thinking about getting to know her more, since she's coming to the park tonight, and I'll be going to help out. But she's a really nice girl. I'll ask her out eventually, I know lots of girls here that likes me as a close friend, and they always give me hugs and pomegranate. And I get along with almost every chick I know, and though I have tons of confidence in myself because I've done pomegranate like this before, I just wonder what her reaction will be. Anyways, wish me luck, brothas.

Definitely. I'm not dreading over it, to be honest. I'm actually happy with the choice I made. =) Nor do I think of my ex 'that way' any more. She's just a person that knows me well, that's it. I'm actually having fun wreaking havoc and getting to know other women.

Here's my two cents:

Get to know her a bit better. Give it a bit of time but not too long. If she's already taken, she might mention it at some point in passing. Otherwise, you don't want to give her too much time such that someone ELSE will ask her out.

Then after a little bit of time, just bluntly tell her:
"Hey, you wanna go <event of choice>?"

where <event of choice> can either be any event happening nearby... or preferably:
-New movie she wants to see (hence why you try to get to know her better)


By the way, you probably shouldn't ask her to dinner on your first try. It's a bit too... formal, shall we say? Girls are much more likely to say yes to something fun sounding than something like dinner. If she likes dancing, ask her to a dance. If you guys are past the age of high school dances (I forget how old you are) then just find something else she likes and ask her to do that.

If you can't find anything at all... well that's where your friends come in. Not in the typical "you go find out for me" way. Hopefully you know have a male friend with female friends. You take about 2 -3 people (with at least 1 of them being a girl) and you arrange to go play... uh ... mini golf

You then tell this girl that your friends "invited" you to go play mini golf and you wanted to know if she wanted to come too. Gotta do this as casually as possible. Any hints at nervousness might make her question as to why you're asking her of all people.

If she says she's busy, then don't act let down. Just keep a straight face and shrug it off, enjoy a day of mini golfing with your friends (they don't have to be in on your plan btw) and use this time to come up with another plan.

If she does say yes, then take this time to enjoy yourself Make sure that, if any conversation starts, you keep her a part of it, just slightly. Once again you don't want to force her into the conversation otherwise it might put her off.

If mini golfing doesn't work out, then the mall might work out:

1)You+your friends(at least 1 girl) are gonna go hang out at the mall

2)Ask her if she wants to come check out the mall

3)Hope she's up for it

In general, treat her like a normal close friend that you've known for a while (But of course, know your limits). So don't prioritize her (this isn't an actual date yet), but don't leave her alone either.

Yeah, thanks for the advice. This actually gave me some ideas, there's a mall right across my house, as well as a really nice movie theater. Even for a small town as this, there's always things to do! =D Haha! Oh, and just in case, I'm 20, and I think she's either 20 or 21. She's a grade level higher, technically (well, back in high school), but we're both Juniors in College, though we go to different colleges.
