At this point, it's hard to say for bossing (the videos we have seen don't have MoNs, PACs, Facestompers, etc that we do). Aran is definitely better at mobbing though.

I'm now under the firm opinion that arans are better than heroes in every way (i don't think arans are better than heroes in a bossing situation and they don't have SE though). Better mobility with combat step. Better damage with or without SE on large mobs. Better damage with SE on bosses. Way better range. Way better versatility. Better acceptability into boss runs because of aegis shield. (aegis shield's name > every other translation of the skill so i use it instead) Probably faster to train in GMS than a hero too because all of the main training spots nowadays are extremely mobby.

Don't forget they have invincibility frames as long as they are attacking. Oh god all that + massive mobbing power + boss perma-stun Smart Knockback = broken class (the good kind, not the bad kind).

I know that my aran is way better than my soul master after 3rd job. A soul master was better than an aran 1st/2nd job, but a fighter and an aran should put an aran on top.
Pros of arans: - Great skills
- Combos required (no real stand and spam skills)
- You get stronger the more you combo
- Fast training
- Power
- Not too expensive (well 7x at kents is still really expensive, but I have gotten down to about 150 ice cream pops per hour at 85.)
- SE helps a lot more for arans than it does to heroes
- Attacks out the wazoo
- Early mounts, like Cygnus
Cons: - 1st/2nd job is boring as hell
- Expensive equips and scrolls
- You can't get the best skills in 1st/2nd job until a certain level
- Lose a lot of potential if you can't combo
- Feels weak early on
- Your fingers hurt from all that button pressing
- Lower HP than other warriors, but better than ranged classes
- Double/Triple swings move you into monsters and those invincibility frames wear off quickly so you take damage that way, this is useful though if you are knocking the mob back because you move with the mob. This is really only a problem before you have smart knockback.
- You always open with a regular attack.
Anyways, there are more pros and cons, but I don't wanna think of them. So, I'll leave off with my final opinion formed from playing a class based on heroes and playing an aran. Arans > Heroes.

Currently, 60% PA for attack is 4.5m~6.5m in FM. 10% PA for attack is 4~5m. 30% is 15m~20m. 70% is 4~5m. 30% PA for accuracy is 3~7m. No one buys 10%/60% PA for accuracy, so I don't really know those prices.
Weapons are just expensive, prices range greatly. A super snowboard, for example, is 20m clean. Actually however, hopefully GMS gets an event we just had, you'd be happy. It made purple snowboards SUPER common. They were selling for ~1m. Now that the event is over they are slowly inflating, but I was smart and I saved up. I have a stash of what I believe is 23 purple surfboards.

That's not the issue - it makes it that much harder for me to scroll decent gear, it makes people hoard decent polearms that I may want, etc. I still need a purple surfboard, which is rare enough already, and will become even more impossible to get when polearm prices skyrocket. It's going to be hard enough crashing the 60% market when merchants attempt to inflate them to 6m+. There's no way I can do so for 10s/30s/70s as well.

Why rage. I envy the fact that you can literally just strip your DrK and play an aran instead. Especially because you have that hot arcglaive.
Of course if you continue to play your PA DrK my respect for you is that much greater, but i wouldn't blame ya if you quit. They're strong as f'uck, and even i'll probably quit for an aran main.

I will be making an Aran, don't get me wrong - I have the gear for it between my DrK (weapon, cape, goggles, earrings) and my DW (shoes, overall), so I may as well. But I will treat it the same way I do my DW and my Outlaw - fun when grinding gets rough, but NOT my main character. My DrK is and always will be my main, regardless. I simply enjoy the playstyle too much. I don't foresee my Aran ever being higher than 120 until my DrK is 200.
Regardless, I'm used to and enjoy being able to cheaply make decent weapons. Hell, I was able to buy almost every Karstan in Bellocan worth scrolling during the 08 Anniversary because
A) Nobody else wanted them
B) They were cheap enough that I could afford 30 or so, whereas most sins could only afford 5-6 Skandas with the same funding.
The same goes for scrolls -
Pre Aran-hype, PA 30s were 2-3m. Tops. Often only 1.5m.
Now, they don't pop up lower than 4m.
60s? 1-1.5m, now selling up to 4m (I'm only buying 3m and below).
It's unnerving that I'm going to have to triple/quadruple my expenses any time I want to make a new weapon.

MasPan, you might get the events we got though. They made it so purple surfboards were super common. Like I said, I was able to buy 23 surfboards for 1~2m each because of it. I'd buy more but I just don't think I need anymore. If you get this event, then your life will be that much easier.

Eww. Tbh, I don't know if I want them "super common." I'd rather them be reasonably obtainable but not to the point where there's no effort required. Regardless, I'd take the oppurtunity to buy as many as I could and mass 30% them with the hopes of landing 3 with 4 slots (6 with hammer) for GM 60s to make one +27 att, 21 str (for an average Purple Surfboard, that's 99+27, or 126 att, 21str, 5 speed, fast (5).

Just as a side not, all the surfboards come out average.

I can understand why you want a Purple Snowboard for your main, but wouldn't it be pointless on an Aran if they get -3 Speed? o-O
