MSN Update.
#1
So MSN is trying to force me to update before I can even log in, due to the fact that I hate the newer version with a passion I am wondering if there is a way to bypass this.

I did it quite a while ago, and then immediately replaced it with an older version. It hasn't bothered me again since.

AFAIK, msn setup.exe checks if you have a newer version before allowing installation. I'm not sure if this can be bypassed but oh well Stunned

And so much for using ingenuine Windows, I can't connect to microsoft page and therefore have no whatsoever method of updating (with a sole purpose to USE it again) MSN.

I tried to use MSN 8.5 and MSN 7 before, neither worked. If you find a way to get past the forced-update thing, please let me know.

I tried this before I made the thread and it didn't work.

Dunno why people hate on the "new MSN" so much when it's better overall.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the new MSN except the fact it looks different. Just upgrade and save yourself the hassle of fiddling with older versions.

Ok I figured it out.

Don't open MSN, but go to the messenger icon and right click> Properties. Go to the Compatibility tab and then click the 'Run windows..' ticker and click the drop down and apply Windows 2000.

Should work.
