EXP TNL Reduction - Level Cap Increase?
#1
Hello,

As all of you know, GMS recently reduced the total EXP needed to level. The consequence of this is that the most EXP you ever need now is 1.6b EXP to level to 200. We all know that the maximum number is 2.1b because of some limitation to their code that I am not going to explain. What's the meaning of all of this? Nexon can increase the level cap until we reach 2.1b EXP once again. It would be something like level ~207 for us to reach it again.

How many of you think there is a possibility that Nexon might raise the level cap? Why? Why not?

207 wouldn't be a nice, rounded number. I don't think they will simply because there's barely any incentive to level past 180 anyway.

And for what. 7 levels of SP and AP which are both not that big a deal.

For some people it is. Not just perfectionists but those who reached level 200 very early and didn't save AP for the distant day we'd get MW20/30 and a couple of other skills.

It's so that we can become stronger and Pink Bean and Pendants, etc!

But 4th job SP resets are so cheaply priced it'd be a steal not to buy them to get MW30! GlitterGlitterGlitter

Given that KMS is still on the old EXP tables(I think), I doubt it.

once we will have in KMS released more pqs from 80-90 and 91-120 and 125-150 i might say why not for adding seven more levels...
in the few next year the game will be easier like i said new pqs will increase the level of everyone...

To be honest I don't see whats stopping Nexon from adding a few (difficult) level 200 quests which when completed enable the character to level up further, leveling shouldn't always necessarily involve gaining pomegranate loads of EXP.

200 levels is enough scope for a game. 2.1b exp is maximum for the 32-bit development. They aren't going to bother going any further or try to incorporate number tricks to expand the 32-bit barrier. Content that keeps you playing is the way to go. There's only a very small fraction of the userbase that hits 150+ anyway. Yes they provide tons of money but you would be catering to a very niche part of the community. Business-wise it wouldn't make sense. Of course there should be more stuff to do for a lvl 200, since WoW offers tons of endgame content, but this is a different MMO.

Getting 4b exp to level kinda puts a bad taste in your mouth!

On that note, I would like to see a "re-birth" option to start at level 1 with perks.

Knowing Nexon, the perk would be +5 WATK and +5 MATK. No thanks.

2.1b exp is not maximum, and never has been. It's the limit for unsigned ints, true, but who has said that it's impossible to change ints to longs? (Or for that matter, concatenating them. It's not hard.) Why do everyone think so?

Or simply cut the exp needed for lvling after 2XX in half but make the exp you gain from monsters be cut also. There's no rule saying that after a lvl up on 2.1b a higher number MUST follow, there's so many ways around that, simple, like my suggestion or by changing the system like Devil's Sunrise says, that even a kindergarten kid would not say it can't be done because of how computers work. Think outside the box, no?

You guys are missing the point. This is like telling a company to build more stories on a skyrise while majority of the available floors are barely decorated and rarely occuppied.

[color="#cc8899"]New skills or buffs related to previous job would be interesting. Ofc, give mages the weakest ones so that people don't just abuse the hell outta HS + Genesis. Gotta make it fair to slower grinders, no?

Maybe something like...
Fire charge that stacks with WK charge if FP. Causes burn.
Ice charge that stacks with WK charge if IL. Causes freeze.
Holy charge (but a weakened one) that stacks with WK charge if Bish.

Passive chance to stun monsters if Hero 15%
Passive chance to seal monsters if WK 15%
+5% HP/MP gain per level for DrK

All potions/buffs last 25% longer for NL
All damage reduced by 15% for Shadower

Passive chance to slow monster if BM
Passive chance to blind monster if MM

Mastery to all weapons/spells +10% if Bucc
Chance to do an additional hit at 1/4 the damage of previous hit after any attack (15%) for Corsair

Great, give the glass cannon more damage. Chin

Anyway, I don't think they'd do this. I hope they wouldn't.

I'm quite sure there are more ways to add more character progression without the means of leveling, and besides hard bosses. It just takes some thinking. Small example, quest-orientated 5th job. Instead of leveling, mission based. But hey, it's up to Nexon... I really just wondering whats gonna be next for GlobalMS and KoreaMS
