Dojo Special Attacks Question

Anyone else having trouble activating them? I can get them to work if I keep trying, but my guess is that they are similar to jumpshooting, and you have to press both ctrl and alt at the same time for it to work. My timing with jumpshooting sucks, so any suggestions to make this easier?

Yeah some (usually the bamboo) I have trouble activating on the first attempt.

Invincibility tends to work off the bat more often, but still not always.

I have yet to figure it out either like, I'll accidently activate one by fighting, but I don't push them all at once so it could be sequence or you have to hold it down.

When I really want like bamboo to activate though I spam the combiation simaltaneously until it activates, works for the most part.

i took off my key that was on alt and still have yet to pull off a special attack thing. I need the invicibility for crog damnit!

I find that it works only when I press the direction key first and then ctrl + alt simultaneously afterwards.

I get it to work the same way Nannerz does, hold the direction key first then ctrl + alt.

If I just try to quickly press it and hit all three at once I rarely get it working.

I can NEVER get the stupid Bamboo to work. I have no idea. I have to sit there like mashing the buttons before it activates. Invincibility and Power Explosion almost always work first try. I hit ctrl + alt + direction all at the same time.

The best way to get them to activate almost 100% is to take all skills off of CRTL andd ALT. Even with the skills on them, you can use the special attacks also, but you need to do an attack that has an semi longer animation to allow you to use the special attack.

Hm I actually do not have any skills on my ALT key, and this has been true since forever...I didn't like to see my char randomly jumping when I alt-tabbed lol. And when I use the skill it casts immediately.

I did the same thing. I put my main buttons on asdf because the game I played before maple(Survival Project. Ironically, it didn't survive for more than 2 years.) had the keys set like that.

I heard you have to press down than do the combo, but not sure yet.

On my EeePC its funny, ALT+CRTL+Arrow key will switch my desktop around, so normally after Dojoin, and going back to Windows, i have to reset it to the up right position

This use to happen to me before I changed it.

But yeah, I discovered the same thing with myself. I have peripheral skills on alt and ctrl, so I would always cast those instead of Bamboo Rain when needed. After taking off the skills from alt and ctrl, then I could cast Bamboo Rain with the buttons, and usually works at most second time mashing all three of those buttons together.

Yeah, you need to take off the skills from CTRL and ALT to cast Bamboo Rain and the other ones. It took me a while until I figured out and I found myself dying eachtime trying to cast Bamboo Rain..

Lol. Invincibility & Power Explosion is what I usually activate accidentally on my NL/NW because of Alt being my Jump button & Ctrl being my FJ button. You need to mash both Alt & Ctrl together after the arrow key for it to work from my "accidental mistakes".

I'm getting better at the keys, but I don't usually charge my bar full to use any of the special skills...

What I do now is push the arrow key, then ctrl and alt together all in a one-second sequence. And I mean, really quick. Though I still mess up and end up sitting in my Warrior Throne (alt key)...

Edit: Sometimes when I do it wrong, I end up rotating my whole screen (try pressing ctrl, alt, and an arrow key at the exact same time). REALLY annoying.

I had to switch keyboards to get the specials to work. :/

speaking of the special skills; how long does invincibility last for?
