Help With My Wireless Network Adapter Please.

I currently have a Linksys Model # WMP54G, Wireless PCI Adapter inserted into my desktop to receive internet signal.

The problem is every now and then a little message pops up, and it tends to close windows and just be annoying overall. I was wondering if Anyone could help me identify and fix the problem as it's starting to drive me up a wall.


He's a picture of one of the couple Errors i see, they all look the same, except the file name on the top is different.

Oh and I've reinstalled the actual card and the software but to no avail.

Be careful. From my experiences, it can indicate either a problem with your RAM memory or your CPU chip.

If you used your computer without that card, does a similar message pop up? And/or, does that message pop up for other things*?

*I'm gunna assume that you've done your research and have confirmed that the process WMP54Gv4.exe listed in the title bar of that error console belongs to your wireless network monitor program.

Have you touched any other components of your computer (like removed, added, reinserted, etc.)?

it only pops up with the card inserted, wmp54gv4.exe does belong to my program. I still have no idea as to what the error is actually doing or how to stop it.

I'm just going to suggest that you do a registry cleaning. Afterwards, uninstall the wireless drivers and then unplug and replug the card.

Just before you stick that card into the PCI slot, blow some air over the slot -- get some dust out -- and then use a microfibre cloth to gently wipe the slotting area.
