How do I tell if something has been Hammered?

I got a 114 dragon claymore in the MTS and I wanna try getting it to 118.

Do I have to buy one and try hammering it? Or is there a way to tell?

The sword is +4, so I have no idea how to tell.

The bottom of the item will state how many times a hammer has been usedUH!

hammered items can't be sold in mts (at least not for now).

I didnt even notice that new slot on items o.O
