New Laptop
#1
So I've been shopping for a new laptop and I found this.

It's very nice and all but if I add in the costs of the 12 cell battery, it'd cost at least $900.

So I looked around and found this one, which is about $200 cheaper.

The thing is, I don't know if the differences in the specs are worth losing or worth paying $200 more for. 320 GB hard drive is definitely more than enough for me, so that pushes towards the second one. However, the processor and graphics card both seem better on the first one. Despite googling for more information about these, I still don't really understand what I'm gaining and losing with these differences.

My two primary reasons for getting a laptop is to have more hard drive space (my current desktop only has 29?) and to be able to play maple while watching tv, so both laptops will probably be good enough for these two basics, but I will probably also want to play some other games that I often hear about but never thought about trying because my computer can't really run them well.

All in all, it'd be great if you guys can:
1. Give a brief comparison between the two laptops regarding the processor and GPU.
2. Pick one of them for me. If neither are that great, do you have any other recommendations? I'm not really looking at newegg and such sites unless the costs for everything including the windows 7 upgrade is still cheaper than something from like Best buy.

Thanks for your help.

For the cheaper alternative, I would go for this one http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?...8093382833 instead of the one you've posted, of course you can add in the 12 cell battery if you want. Reason being that it's an LED lit LCD but don't expect to play other games. This one is made for people who are out with their laptop most of the time, away from plugs (if you're taking your laptop to lectures or the library there are seats with plugs, lots of them, so that doesn't count).

The more expensive one you've posted will have better performance, the CPU is SLIGHTLY better, but you won't notice the difference between the cheaper one during everyday use. ONLY time you will see the difference is during large calculations or gaming. This is where the DEDICATED graphics card comes in. You will be able to play most games on mid quality full resolution no problem.

Now about the battery, like I said before, you if you travel a lot and is away from plugs AND play games not too different (graphics wise) from maple, then it would be a good choice, the 12 cell will last you a long time.

Getting a 12 cell battery for the more expensive one is not recommended, because if you want to game with batteries, a 12 cell might last you an extra 20mins. Also, from experience, if you look hard enough, you can always find plugs.
