Do Cartoons nowadays suck?
#1
Majority speaking since I know there are a few new good Cartoons out there.

So, do most of them suck nowdays, or can I not get rid of my nostalgiavision?

Might just be my nostalgia goggles, but yeah, cartoons are horrible nowadays.

Is Chowder still around? I got a chuckle out of that the two times I watched. And before that there was Foster's. But no, nothing truly of the caliber of your nostalgiatoons.

There's still some good ones out there. I've been hearing oddly good things about Transformers Animated. Guess awkward animation makes it more than meets the eye.

Ew. Cartoons really do suck. B>Ren and Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, Chip + Dale Rescue Rangers plz.

The only good cartoons that I've liked recently are Camp Lazlo (How I miss it) and Chowder. Those are the only ones that I find funny.

Ed, Edd 'n Eddy, Johnny Bravo, etc... I miss those days! Sad I quit watching cartoons because the new crap is HORRIBLE.

Well although most do suck and most have a really annoying 5 year old voice for the main character now the only cartoon that I can imagine still being really good is Spongebob. The series is still going strong and to me it is still quite funny.

yes and no, i catch it now and then since i dont go to bed til 3 and i have Sat, so i get it early. It can be really cheesy, I mean the girl in it is actually part robot, and it just gets weird. Also, they have moving mouths, which is awkward if you remember the old transformers. Some of the episodes are ok, some arent.

I think it's mostly because you just a little kid when you watched the old stuff and the reason you still find the old ones good is because of nostalgia. I don't really watch very many cartoons any more, or much television at all for that matter, but I did enjoy The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. Though lately every time I go to watch it, it ends up been one I've already seen, which is strange because I've only seen like 7-8 episodes. I've seen Chowder and I don't understand the appeal of it. It seems like something I would enjoy, but I just don't find it all that entertaining to me. I used to watch SpongeBob SquarePants quite a bit, but now I hardly ever watch it. I just don't find it funny to me anymore, it feels like it lost its appeal. I think I stopped watching it around the same time the movie came out. There's plenty more shows I could go on and on about, but I don't feel like it right now.

Most of the shows that aired in the '90s on Cartoon Network got pushed into Boomerang and I've ended up watching Boomerang more than I do Cartoon Network, especially now since what Cartoon Network has become lately. It feels really weird seeing shows like Dexter's Laboratory being aired on Boomerang. The same thing applies to NickToons and Nickelodeon. I sort of think that there should be a channel dedicated exclusively to each decade in cartoons.

One thing that im seeing is that there is a dramatic lack of shows for people around 18-25ish. There are a few channels that do have shows, such as [AS] and G4, but the overall majority of shows and networks focus oneither younger audiences (Disney, Nick, CN) or older audiences (basically everything else), but there is a very limited array for teen to young adult. To contrast this, I think that in Japan, the shows available there easily range to accomodate almost all the age ranges that there are, As well as in other places as well.

The most recent cartoon I've enjoyed is Ben 10, that's it.

What I hate is that Cartoon Network took away my Adult Swim... with their Venture Bros, Robot Chicken, those other two cartoons about college... I miss it. : (

I wish I had a channel where I could turn to it and watch Rocko's Modern Life, Ren & Stimpy, Doug, Animaniacs, Futurama, etc.

Spongebob still is active... new episodes almost once every week...

But of course, the old episodes were better... except for the Sandle Castle War episode <3
