Just saw Half-blood prince

Glad I went to the midnight viewing.

Stayed true to the original. It was probably the most emotional out of all of them. Definitely the best movie yet.

I'm so excited. Already read a ton about it beforehand, and it definitely sounds like it will live up to my hopes. Don't mind what was left out/altered too much, and the added stuff sounds great. I have fears about several scenes, but I'm hoping for the best. I won't truly know anything until I see it...

No way it could be as disappointing as the 5th movie, though. My goodness.

I went to the midnight viewing as well...other than being stuck in the front row sitting beside a guy reeking of alcohol, it was great. And compared to the other movies I thought this one was pretty good

I didn't. I arrived an hour early to avoid those. Well, unless you count the line for concessions - that was only 15 minutes. The theater I went to initially had 3 x 250 seats for the opening show. They had to double capacity due to demand.

Did you go in costume as a muggle?

No lines for me, I've already got my tickets.

WHAT THE pineapple. Where I live, you'd probably have to wait one or two hours early (after purchasing your ticket), before you're let into the auditorium, for which you would have to wait another hour before the movie actually started.

I also went just under an hour early and the lineup was already really long...we had pre-bought our tickets as well. I wouldn't say the city I'm currently in is large by any stretch of the imagination either lol

1. I didn't consider the other ones a pool of vomit, and I really liked this one.
2. Acting was pretty good. Some parts were a bit iffy, but besides that it was sweet
3. The inferi looked like hundreds of clones of golem from lord of the rings to me hahaha.

Although I must say, the ending let me down...a lot.

Basically, instead of the whole "OMG DUMBLEDORE HAS DIED. LETS GO BATTLE DEATHEATERS OUT OF RAGE AS WE CHASE AFTER SNAPE AND MALFOY" it's more like "oh wow dumbledore died, let's go outside and talk and reflect for a moment..."

Overall it was a good movie though. It's VERY funny, and they really nailed the whole romance part (Ron/Lavender/Hermione triangle). Unfortunately the amount of focus that had took away from the action, though.[/COLOR]

How was it compared to #3 and #5.
I personally think #3 has been the best so far.

The movie consistently refers to Harry as "The Chosen One", but never really goes into any sort of depth about the prophecy and instead focuses more on horcruxes.

Just got back from seeing it.

First off, like I said, I already braced myself for most of what was excluded. I pre-raged at them excluding all but two of the past memories about Tom and his family. So I wasn't upset about them missing. I already knew they added that crazy Burrow attack scene (which was enjoyable, but no idea why they made it up), so it didn't bother me.

That aside, I was not braced for how they butchered the ending.

Anyway, let me first say I did enjoy the movie. From a strictly movie-goer sense, it was quite enjoyable. Lots of good humor, action, story, etc. However, I'm a huge Harry Potter fan who of course has read the novels and loved them. I can not believe how they changed and ruined the absolute most important and best part of the book. Why leave out the Hogwarts battle? Why allow Dumbledore to Apparate inside Hogwarts' grounds (I seriously raged)? Why ruin so much of the drama, emotion and power behind all the ending scenes? FFFFFFFFFFFF And worst, WORST, of all was the Dumbledore death scene. HARRY POTTER WATCHING IT FROM BELOW? WHAT THE HELL. ....THAT COMPLETELY RUINS HOW POWERFUL IT WAS. HIM BEING TRAPPED IN HIS BODY, FORCED TO WATCH DUMBLEDORE BE MURDERED BY SNAPE IS HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE DONE. But instead we get HERPA DERP I SEE YOU POTTER, SHHH NOW I GO KILL DUMBLEDORE LOL.


And goodness after he died. Well that's sad let's reflect. ;_; POINTING OUR WANDS AT THE SKY WILL BE GOOD ENOUGH!

Ultimate nerdrage, forgive me. But come on. The ending was perfect and absolutely powerful. The movie's version was the ultimate disappointment for me. Gosh dangit. At least the scene with the Horcrux in the cave was done pretty well. I enjoyed it. After that, though... Ruined everything. Some other minor things disappointed me (like leaving out Fleur+Bill and Tonks+Remus, which added to powerful love connections emphasized strongly in the book), but I won't rage over them...

Other things I did like was how annoyingly done Lavender was (who doesn't hate that bimbo), how many scenes made me laugh (especially McLaggen... LOL what a douchenut; the entire theatre loved laughing at him) and of course Luna. One of the best things about the movies is getting to see Luna. She's so awesome. ;_;

All in all, I guess, I definitely had a fun time. It's a good movie in itself, but its flaw is how horribly it handled the ending.

Well, they couldn't exactly have the Battle of Hogwarts because the D.A. wasn't implemented in the movies. I already knew there wouldn't be a battle scene at the end and didn't bother reading a shred of what was already in the movie.

I like how they portrayed Malfoy, but I do not like how they did the closet scenes. It seemed too random... Pointless. Oh, quick nerd moment here. I laughed with my family that the bird in the closet was actually Schrodinger's cat.
