installing windows XP

i'm installing windows XP in my computer, i have a legitimate CD + its key.
i put the CD in the PC, restart it, then it load a couple stuff and tells me:
press :
enter - install windows XP
R - Repair
f3 - quit

i press enter and it tells me it doesnt find any hard disk drive, therefore the set up cannot be completed. please help ??

Check your Bios and make sure that your hard drives are detected.

wouldnt the hard disk be detected atm cuz im running vista? i was told something about SATA to ATA

See if your BIOS recognizes the hard drive?

probably ur motherboard doesnt have the native SATA drivers, so while installing the xP, u gota press F2 (install SCSI or other device driver) something like that, then put in the sata disk driver, disquet or whatever, to make this disk, u need ur motherboard driver cd and search for sata drivers.

he means that you need to download the SCSI drivers for DOS and put them on a floppy disk, then press f2 when the windows setup loads and says "press f2 to install sata or scsi drivers" and insert that floppy disk.

Screwed up my computer and i had to bring it somewhere to get it fixed... anyways XP working now~ yes you can get XP even on phoenix BIOS
