Typical vista problems at zak.

Just got my computer a few days ago. First zak trip, got the C++ library thing, so i updated that yesterday. Just now, went again, alt tabbed the second 1st body died and the client closed.

Is there still no fix for this?

If you do zakum in low quality, you change it back to high, then back again to low. It pretty much refreshes it somehow and makes it less likely that you'll dc.

aw i have the same problem. Durring 3rd body for me it start to disapear and then i d/c n get c++ error thingy o.o.

I have a similar problem, but I die at the second body when the HP is exactly 1/2

I get this error Hackshield initialization error 4696954000 something.

Might I suggest getting Windows Vista Service Pack 2?

If that doesn't work, Start at full graphics and after arms lower the graphics down one notch, after the 1st body, lower them again one notch, and continue for the rest of the bodies. Make sure you're also in Windowed mode.

I've been on at least 5 zak runs since a little after this thread was posted, and the changing graphics thing works fine.

Windowed mode has absolutely nothing to do with it though.

Once during a zak run I talked to someone and they told me to Alt-tab just before 1st body (or was it 2nd) dies (only works if you have autopot) and tab back in when its safe. It worked for me, I didn't dc in the 2nd run.

Changing graphics is common for vista users at bosses like Zak/HT. You might want to change graphics more than just once (after arms at zak), for instance HT takes more graphic shifting than Zak.

It's better to do the changes while in full screen because window mode uses more memory and could cause a large lag spike. Emphasize could. What my wife does is change the graphics a notch every "segment" starting at the last zak arm. She has yet to dc.
