What would be the best thing to do in this mad inflation we're having in all the worlds, but specifically Scania.
I want to either make profit, or keep it even, as long as I don't lose meso.
I'm very confused.
Would the best thing to do is just keep all your mesos and hope a sharp deflation comes?

Don't buy anything?
Less demand -> prices go down.

From a perspective of not loosing money, there are 2 options
1) don't spend any money until prices come back down (could be months)
2) spend all your money on scrolls and equipment, because mesos are losing value fast. Since you're asking so late, you've already lost some mesos, but you'll keep losing them until nexon fixes whatever the problem is.

I was asking myself the same question. I figured out it doesn't really matter because prices will go down eventually.
If you are that desperate, convert your mesos to NX.

since price of NX doubled up, I'd probably do the other way around which is convert all nx into meso.
e.g.: 100m buys you 10k nx or so now but when it'll go back (maybe) to the former rate, those 10k NX will only let you have 50m
the other way around is if you have a leftover of 10k NX now you can manage to sell those points for 100m, and when the rate calms down, those 100m will let you have 20k NX
anywho... it all depends on how do you see the future economy: in a positive or negative way

What I'm doing is selling every single useless piece of crap I don't need. I have some equips that I bought a few lvls ahead, so I'll sell those. After that, I'll just sit and wait for everything to die down. However, I'm banking on Maker coming out soon, so I'm keeping whatever scrolls I need.
So yea, sell what you don't need and sit tight. I'm in no rush to upgrade any equips.

If you're like me, and had a few decent things stored up, as in, things that are inflating, I would suggest watching the market carefully, then making immediate sales. Say Ilbi's, they got to 20mil, and then the next day, you saw alot for still 20, or slightly less, immediately sell them, sell them for 18 if you have to, because as far as I can see, this inflation will deflate(whenever it does) just as quickly.

If you think the market will inflate more you should buy items that are inflating in order to not lose money.
If you think market has reached its peak then you should start selling the items you have to achieve the most mesos before deflation...

Best thing to do (happened to a lot of players in JMS) : Buy things while they're still low, sell when the economy reaches its inflation height, quit, come back when the economy deflates, boom! You're rich.

that's basically how stock market works... the problem is knowing when is "while they're still low", when is the "peak" and when the economy deflated

Buy any scrolls that aren't super inflated yet, keep enough mesos to train with and stuff, hang on until everything goes back to normal.

peak is easy to see. Watch the trends. If prices rise every 3 days consistently, and then 4 or 5 days go by where there is little to no raise, you know it's reached the peak. Unfortunately at this point it's a rapid decline because everyone will notice it's at it's peak and will begin selling low to make money quickly and guaranteed, and others will follow suit basing their prices off the already lowered prices.
So be observant and don't get greedy. The longer you wait and hope for a big pay off, the greater the chance you'll miss out completely because a decline can happen very very quickly once it's peaked.

Why? It's even, either you decide to buy and you play the market, or you don't do a thing, but buying now to resell when it's back to normal is equivalent to do nothing, isn't it?

It's not buying now to resell, it's cutting your losses. You hang onto your 200m or whatever and it'll be worthless in a week. You buy scrolls that keep inflating and you'll have some buying power no matter how bad the inflation gets.

i do understand but those 200m will have the same power in a few weeks when the situation calm down. The buying power is only effective while those scrolls are "overpriced" compared to the initial state, if the price of those scroll go back to what it was it's a even situation

That's assuming it gets better soon though :/ An emergency stock of things that always hold value is nice to have if you need money.

well, the best thing to do would be hoard meso while its cheap and easy. save nx. buy when items deflate again.
i dont know if its occurring in scania yet, but in bellocan prices have fallen over the the last 24 hours. some of the more well known meso sellers have doubled/tripled prices suddenly, will have to see if it sticks though...

If you havn't already, do all the quests that give GFA's, on all the mules you have. Most of them are low level quests. Make some easy money
