Farming Piece of Time
#1
Two quick questions concerning the topic:

1. Do all Time Temple Mobs drop Piece of Time ?
2. What's the best Mob to farm for Pieces based on your experience ?

Thx for your answers Glitter

I think all Time Temple monsters drop them, yeah. I found one from those blue monks as well as from Oblivion Guardians, so I guess that's enough to assume such. Can you tell me what role Pieces of Time even play?

They are needed to forge lvl 120 Reverse Weapons with maker skill.. You need 45 pieces each weapon.

I think the higher level monsters might have a higher droprate of time pieces, I've only gone through memories and regret so far and haven't found a single time piece. The only notable time temple etcs. I got were two black armor pieces and one neutral mask.

Yes, all Time Temple monsters drop them. Even Eye of Times. I've gotten a piece from every monster at least once, some more. I have 21 pieces so far, after a great deal of hours hunting there without 2x drop.

I would think the best map to farm them would be one you like the layout of and can rotate easily. I've had the best luck in Regret, but that's probably because I've spent the most time there.

1: I've found pieces of time from the Eye of Time, Monks, Knights...so I'm fairly sure it's everything.

2: I only had 2 pieces of time all the way through the regret maps then found 4 in the first two oblivion maps...could be complete coincidence but either way I've stuck in the oblivion maps since then killing Oblivion Monk Trainee's. Since then I've found 3 more as well as 4 frowny masks which I've been able to use to make up for the pot burn.

So while I'm not positive they're any better I still say fighting Oblivion Monks for the pieces and the masks is the way to go.(Plus I'm fairly sure you can use their monster etc. items to make the monster crystals you need for lvl 120 equips since the Monk/Trainee are 121/124 respectively)

Does anybody know how many pieces of time you need to forge the non-weapon 120 equips?

Sounds like a plan. Too bad you can't store time Temple etcs in MTS. I guess i need to make a mule for that Frown

Hmm, let's see here...

Pre-mask farming killing spree,

13,500 kills (including Eyes of Time and the occasional regular Guardians in 4th rooms)
12 pieces of time, 3 Smiley Masks, 5 Neutral Masks, 3 Frowny Masks, 6 Black Armor Fragments

Currently,

1-1.5k Eyes of Time
4k Memory Monks, 1k Memory Monk Trainees, 1.1k Memory Guardians, 1k Chief Memory Guardians
1k Qualm Monks, 3k Qualm Monk Trainees, 1.1k Qualm Guardians, 1k Chief Qualm Guardians
1k Oblivion Monks, 1k Oblivion Monk Trainees, 1.1k Oblivion Guardians, 1k Chief Oblivion Guardians

I've gotten 16 Pieces of Time, 10 Smiley Masks, 8 Neutral Masks, 3 Frowny Masks, 6 Black Armor Fragments.

I've soloed everything thus far, except for 1 Smiley Mask which I found from someone else's kill. The Pieces of Time came from virtually everything, including the Eyes of Time. I have no idea if bosses are more likely to drop them or not.

In my experience with Time Temple, the best place to farm Pieces of Time is Dodo's map. It has a very high spawn rate and the monsters are easy to kill.

Those are Time Stones, not Time Fragments. O_o

You need a certain amount of certain colored powder bags (lol crack), a certain amount of monster crystals for levels 111 ~ 120, a certain amount of monster crystals for levels 121 ~ 130, and 15 Time Fragments.

Note : When I say 'certain,' it varies for each item that you make.

Well, thank you for pointing that out, captain obvious.

To answer your next question, no, no Time Fragments are used in the making of Timeless Armor, as it stands for now. It could change later, to what ShiKage says it is.

If there are Reverse Armors, they are unable to be identified atm. *shrugs*

There are Reverse versions of each armor, that's why I pointed out that you should just use Time Fragments to forge Reverse armors. lol Making Timeless anything is impossible at the moment, so you can just count that out.

Thx to all for your answers. So I'll try Oblivion monks for piece and etc items. Also testing Dodo Map. If thy number of pieces i get there is only slightly higher compared to oblivion, I'll stick to oblivion maps because of the better exp and etc items there. I'll post results here in 2 days =).

Wow, I'm surprised not 1 person said the Area Bosses drop them.

I got one every other Lyka on 2x drop even though they're a pain in the ass to kill. I have 17 atm, 12 of them were from 2x'ing the Area bosses.

9 pieces from 4 hours 2x drop at oblivion map 2. I hope Dodo's Map pays of better. At least i have enough monster etcs to forge a reverse claw now.
Tomorrow 4 hour 2x at Dodo's Map. Stay tuned for results Biggrin .

EDIT: Also got 5 Frowny Masks if anyone is interested in that ...

EDIT2: The atempt to farm at Dodo's Map was a big fail. After 2hours on 2x drop and about 3000 monsters including 4 Dodos slaughtered I still didnt get a single piece. I decided to move back to oblivion map 2 after that where i got 4 pieces and 2 Frowny Masks in the remaining 2 hours.
