Making a CPQ Mule
#1
Yeah. I'm thinking of making a Soul Master that will be permanently capped at level 50 so I can coin farm, get Broken Glasses from LPQ, and etc.

However, I'm having trouble of deciding which build at the level 50 will help reach the highest amount of damage to a high mob in CPQ, while also helping out a lot in LPQ.

The first build which I found was the max Soul Blade prioritized build, which ends up like this in level 50:

19 Mastery
6 Booster
1 Soul Rush (Dunno if this will help out, but it is a transport move so...)
30 Soul Blade
5 Rage

However, I also saw a build that focuses on mastering Rage:

19 Mastery
6 Booster
1 Soul Rush
20 Rage
15 Final Attack/Soul Blade

I'm not really sure which one to go with. Is the 12 Weapon Attack really worth it, or should I go ahead straight mastering Soul Blade?

Another problem I'm having is with the AP distribution, and the weapon of choice.

First of all, because I'm trying to make the ultimate CPQ mule, I'm planning to keep the base DEX around 10-15. Equipment I will definitely have is 14 Dex BCM, 15 Dex/15 Luk Zak Helm, and a 7 Dex Redsnowshoe. If I try to use minimal funding, this is what my accuracy will look like before I hit 2nd Job:

15 Dex: 15 x 0.8 = 12 Accuracy
4 Luk: 4 x 0.5 = 2 = 14 Accuracy
Plus from Blessing of the Sprite: 21 Accuracy

Will 21 Accuracy be enough to hit monsters, or will I need to raise my Dex cap a bit?

Also, my accuracy at level 50 will look like:

BCM: 14 x 0.8 = 11.2 = 32.2 Accuracy
19 Mastery: 32.2 + 19 = 51.2 Accuracy
Red Showshoe: 7 x 0.8 = 5.6= 56.8 Accuracy
Zak Helm: 15 x 0.8 + 15 x 0.5 = 19.5 + 20 Acc = 39.5 + 56.8 = 96.3 Accuracy

Will that amount of Accuracy be enough to hit all mobs in MC at level 50?

Also, for weapon of choice, I'm wandering between using a well scrolled Glowing Whip with a Str Shield (no Attk Shields in KMS), or a well scrolled Lion's Fang. I'm leaning more toward the Glowing Whip because I've seen Dexless Soul Masters hit nearly 1500 CP alone with them.

Comments?

P.S: Should I just ditch Soul Masters and make an Aran when it comes out because it has a mob move that attacks freaking 12 monsters with a single attack? Unless it's uber weak...

If you want a CPQ mule, forget soul masters... just make a pure INT flame wizard and max flame pillar. how simple is that Tongue

If you want to make an "ultimate CPQ character," you're going to need a lot more than 96 accuracy. My CPQ Fighter has 20 base dex and nearly 130 accuracy and still misses Rombots occasionally when Avoid Up is cast. I'd recommend getting at least that - should be pretty easy with Blessing of the Sprite and a ZHelm. The easiest way to get that accuracy at level 50 is to get one of those crazy accuracy boosting weapons. I use axes so I have access to the Maple Dragon Axe, but I dunno what options you have with swords.

Rage isn't very important. For CPQ you can use the 7 att pots in Leafre that last 20 minutes, and for LPQ you can use any att pots you want. I'd max Soul Blade. I wouldn't get Final Attack until after CPQ, especially a half-assed one, but does Soul Blade activate FA? It's completely useless to Fighters since Rombots die in 2-3 hits (probably a consistent 2 with Soul Masters) anyway and FA would typically just cause you to swing at nothing, while screwing over your mobbing ability.

Level 1 soul rush is just pointless, you’ll travel no distance and use a lot of mp for it.

@Reflexx: I'm positively sure that a All Str SoulMaster is the best CPQer as far as my tests have gone.

@ Dusk: How about without Avoid up? How much Accuracy would I need them? There aren't really any good accuracy swords other than the Kelt Sword, which is pretty bad.

@Kirov: Well, that's the only skill that would help, because an extra point in Rage doesn't do anything, and 20 Mastery is pointless. Unless I make Booster 7 for a +10 second duration. What do you suggest?

96 is fine without Avoid up, but low accuracy is a serious weakness in CPQ. If you don't have enough accuracy to hit monsters at least 50% with Avoid Up, it's basically as effective as Weapon Cancel.

That's okay, because in KMS, barely anyone summons Weapon Cancel or Avoid Up as a manner system in Plana.

Right now, my SoulMaster in making is level 22. Hoping to get it to level 50 by next week.

I have a question... How do you make an "Ultimate CPQ mule"? Won't it level eventually from winning the CPQ? and doin LPQ's for glasses. How would it always be capped at 50?

sorry for double posting but, what is a good ACC a lvl 50 soulmaster CPQ mule should have. I've checked the calculator and I came up with 66 ACC at lvl 50 is good enough, has anyone ever looked into this?

EDIT: whats this avoid-up thing? and how can I can I work around it?

I recommend you wait for Arans since they're able to mob more monsters, and can push with Final Smash, assuming that and Mastery aren't difficult to acquire. There shouldn't be any reason a Soul Master would be outdamaging you outside of its extra stat points, and you have access to Combat Step for travelling as opposed to being severely limited by skill points to acquire Soul Runner. Plus, you can be a bit self-sustaining with 1 Combo Drain, though it's not a whole lot at all.

I also plan on making a dexless Soul Master as a CPQ mule, but for GMS. I'll have enough accuracy to hit through avoid up with 50-60% accuracy, which I think should be berable until I can upgrade. I decided to use the japanese map as the final weapon. However, I wasn't totally sure on how I should do my 2nd job build for maximum effectiveness at cpq at 50.
With 61 total points from 30-50, I am definately getting 19 mastery and 6 booster, which leaves 36 points afterwards for soul runner and soul blade. I would need 40 to max both, so I am not sure how to skip the 4 points. 26 soul blade loses 20% damage per hit, and I am not sure if soul runner would be as effective at level 6. Should I do 28 and 8? I am not really sure.
Any suggestions on how to split the 36 points woud be appreciated.
