Just a general technique for avoiding damage, getting behind a monster/boss, or using Rush without actually pushing the target.
Simple 2-step process:
1. Hit monster with an attack, the faster the better (more difficult with Dragon Crusher), that forces the target into a KB animation (alternatively, several skill animations, particularly those of bosses, are "Rush proof" or "kb proof" - wait until enemy is using one of these)
2. Immediately use Rush while target is still in the KB animation. A correct timing will send you sliding through the monster, while the monster remains in place, without taking touch damage. This works extremely well on small targets such as Skelegons/Skelosaurus, but on larger targets it may not (higher chance of touch damage). Note that you have to be standing fairly close to the monster for lower levels of Rush (Higher levels allow you to be a little farther away). I can do a live demonstration of this Sunday evening via xFire (You do not need to have this program to watch, only to broadcast/ask questions) if anyone is interested, and if someone wouldn't mind recording it for me and posting to YouTube it could be a useful video for demonstration purposes.
http://www.xfire.com/live_video/maspan
Note that this takes a little practice to happen other than accidentally. It is not guaranteed to save you from damage (larger targets, like Spirits Vikings, can still manage to hurt you). It simply takes advantage of invincibility frames and whatever programming prevents a monster from being kb'd too quickly to save a potion every now and then, or to dodge a threatening "front-only" magic attack.

i think i get what you mean, however i prefer just killing them and rushing to the monster behind the last killed skele, since with the new mini dungeons there is plenty of spawn anyways =p
rush really is the greatest skill, it allows you to avoid so many unavoidable stuff like zakum's stun and pianus' beam attack and it actually makes warriors easy to play, hard to master

You're 196 and can kill them a hell of a lot faster than a low 4thjobber.

oh i wasnt refering to that, ofcourse this still works on crimson guardians for me i think.. i might come to watch ur demonstration if u dont mind, im really interested how other warriors train, and i dont think there is anybody in kradia that fully masters rush
edit: to stress what i mean, barely anybody used rush on a macro in kradia untill i read somewhere on this forum that its way better that way, now everybody uses it

I was the one who suggested Rush macro, due to the many benefits it gives (particularly air-casting the macro to auto-rush on ground). Rush is by far my favorite skill, as it opens up a lot of interesting potential. I'd be happy to have you watch (I don't use Rush-through when training a whole lot, because I primarily want to stack mobs, but when I have a single target and am waiting for spawn I will). I pretty much do a simple sweep left/right when training (solo I do something like left to right top, jump down, right to left, jump down, etc, then go all the way back up, stopping only for a mob of 4 or more. Partied with an ult'er I sweep the bottom back and forth). I actually have lv 27 Rush (max at 151) for the damage and range increase, in planning for Time Temple, where high HP will result in a lot of rushing on my part. Being able to hit a 10k rush (zerk) on a def up'd skele is really useful, and ought to come in handy at TT (where it'll be doing up to 16k per hit with Zerk, or more if I'm using a DPH PA).
Anyways, I like to think of myself as a Rush guru. I much prefer it over stance (which I will work on after completing Rush).

well i never really tried to use rush to its full potential untill a few weeks ago when i discovered at zakum that you can avoid his stun with rush (which i later found out was common knowledge =p). after that i found ur post about the rush macro, and also stuff like what your describing in this topic makes me want to play with rush a bit more.. oh well with only 1 lvl to go to lvl200 i think i'll just play how i used to till i hit 200 and then play with rush while collecting monster cards after 200

Yea, you kinda missed the experimenting window
Polearms mob for a living, and live for mobs, so I've gotten a LOT of use out of it. I suppose for Brandish's shorter range and small-mob focus, rush is more useful for transportation for heros than anything else. It's EXTREMELY useful when fighting Rellik, as you can dodge all but 1 of his status-attacks by rushing through him to the other side (1/1 and Stun are front-only). If you fail to rush-through, you at least push him out of status range from the ranged attackers

i have never fought rellik unpinned so i have no idea what youre talking about here, except that even lvl 1 rush is amazing for getting into a hug. in addition, our pqs usually have only 2-3 (pretty strong) mobbers which is enough to keep the ranged busy for so long that rellik has < 1 cm of hp left by the time they kill the other 3.
and yeah, i use rush as much as i can to move around the map. not to build mobs, unless its a convenient size for brandish. thinkin about getting more once im happy w/ stance.

I still haven't noticed any "invincibility" due to rush - how would you reproduce this? Every time my character goes over a monster, unless I'm still blinking from an earlier attack, I get hit.

I've done it a few times, although I can't say I'd ever do it with the intent of rushing THROUGH a monster, but simply to avoid a harder-hitting attack.

It has to be a relatively skinny monster, like a skelegon/osaurus. Steps are listed as above - when done correctly, you won't get hurt unless you do it from too far away/your rush is low level (this is still possible with a low level rush, just have to be closer to the monster, as stated above). Like I said, live demonstration Sunday evening (probably 7 EST/4PST after 2x ends).

I tried to do it and I d/c'd... maybe this should wait for patch 0.72? lol. I can't tell if it worked because I was lagging but my level 1 Rush only goes far enough to get through Jr. Yetis if I'm right next to them.

I could do it with lv 1 on Skeles O.o
Maybe weapon choice affects it (1h vs 2h weapon sizes), but I doubt it. Mostly just a practice/timing thing. You have to kb first and immediately use rush. Anyways, just hang tight til Sunday so I can do my demonstration, see if there's anything different that I'm doing.

I always found this as more of an annoyance then a technique. My first few levels with rush I'd use way more pots then I should've because I'd accidentally sail through a monster instead of moving it...

But if you can see it coming, you can avoid it where it would cause problems. It doesn't cause me any problems now that I know pretty much how to do it on my own. Next step - tackle Rush Cannon (launching something twice the ordinary distance).

I've done that several times without meaning it. My "technique" is very similar to yours.
1. Be in a CPQ.
2. Get the other guy to hit something.
3. Use Backspin Blow.
If done correctly, you should go right through the monster without moving it. So there is even a lower level version for Brawlers!

Or you can just use Backspin to push monsters into your ranged teammates, or away from your melee teammates! (Reason #13 why I never party Brawlers in CPQ unless I know them)

Aw, for a second there I thought you were talking about using Rush to avoid magic attacks. It's really easy to do it in CWKPQ against Margana since her attack frames have the wrong delay.

That's a good use too, but more widespread and easier to learn on your own. I'm doing this to demonstrate a technique that isn't widely known

rush cannon is fun. pretty sure you only have the first frame of the monster's magic attack to pull this off. and i've only done it at skeles.
