Windows Startup Theme

I'm trying to get part of the song "Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day" into a .wav file from a .mp3 and make it my startup theme but I don't know how to convert. Help? Big Grin

Startup theme what? Is that new in Win7 or something?

No, when you start your windows and your desktop appears, you hear a sound. That's what the startup theme is.

How do i convert it? I'm new with Audacity.

Open the mp3 file you want to convert to wav, select the area you want to have in wav for for the startup sound, and then go to file--> export selection as wav.

If you want the entire mp3 as a wav, then just open the mp3 then go to file--> export as wav.

He wants .wav -> .mp3, not .mp3 -> .wav.
