There was a storm here and I was sitting outside enjoying the show when, BOOM, lightning struck the transformer by the road and I just watched as there was sparks and fire all around the fallen pole.
And it was raining heavy at the same time so I didn't have to worry about the fire spreading.

I had one about a week ago, my power went out temporarily. I don't mind the power going out, I think it's fun when it does. I really like when it rains and even more when it storms, but sadly we don't have too many stormy days around here most of the year. The weather is pretty boring here most of the time, but it is popularly known to change on a whim.

Regular storms are boring, they only last usually about for 30 minutes here and then turn to a slow sprinkle.
I like dem big hurricanes with 120 mile per hour winds, where no matter how much rain is falling it will always appear hard, where EVERY transformer box will explode and sparkle. Not to mention if you are sitting by the window, and something breaks and comes your way you are fcked. And the after math where your neighborhood gets all together to clean up and barbeque and shet and you are all stuck with no power except that one rich guy.
Just kidding, I hate hurricanes, they ruin everything.
Tropical storms are more my type, school is canceled for only a week, power is usually back on within a day, and you still get the awesomeness of watching rain fall hard, and its still safe to sit and watch by the window. With that said, I was there for Katrina.

Never been in a hurricane and we don't get em here cause of the cool offshore winds. We do get thunderstorms here and there though sometimes. Mostly fires and earthquakes occur here.

Lightning storms are fun from a LONG distance. They're fun to watch. Right over head, on the other hand, is a very scary experience. Those of you who say 'odds are lightning will never hit a person.'; it has happened quite often around me. Seeing a total of 8 people get struck by lightning, 5 of which were killed, in the time frame of 2 weeks is quite terrifying...haha

I always get weird looks at work when I say "HOLY CRAP! It's storming/raining outside! Yaaaaaay!" xD

I was at football practice on the muddy field. I look up and there's a clear blue sky. Then I turn around and there's black and grey clouds. I thought it was crazy looking; just a total shift in color. I saw a lightning strike and so did coach. We all hurried to pack all the equipment into his pick-up truck and by then, the whole sky was grey. Lightning lit up the whole sky and lights were bouncing off of every surface. Crazy.
