1h swords
#1
Would they still outdamage 2h swords over time due to speed(for a loss of a few attack)? Generally, of course. The average for the swords are just 2 attack less but are faster. Also, this would be without an attack shield and I'd be using brandish. I do not have access to a stonetooth, or any amazing swords like that (I play KMS). I am just debating on what I should invest my money in for level 100+.

I know this is vague, but bear with me, will you?

a couple old numbers:
103% - amount of w att a fast5 1h sword needs to equal dps of normal6 2h.
97% - amount of w att a fast4 1h sword needs to equal dps of normal6 2h.

if youre looking at forging say a 120 1h sword vs a 120 2h, id say go for the 2h because you wont be using an attack shield to make the 2h's dps easy to surpass.

without stonetooth 2h isnt as good, but without att shields 1h is worse than 2h imo.

I might be able to forge a STR shield because I beleive we don't have shield for weapon attack scrolls. Might it be woth it if I had a 10-15+ STR shield, assuming my 1h sword is -2 weapon attack that my 2h would be?

I've never really preplanned anything in MS before, I just went with the flow.

go here and play around a bit. windows calculator is also very useful.

a 10-15 str shield is about the same as 1.5-3 w att, so unless youre forging a rk or any swords that will end up < 100 att it prolly isnt worth it.

also keep in mind 103% and 97% match up dps, not damage per hit. 2h will always win dph w/o attack shields.

its not that hard really,

if you have the same HKO rate on the monsters you train on with both 1h and 2h then 1h is always the better option due faster speed

however if you for instance 3hko with a 2h weapon and 3-4hko with a 1h weapon then you should either stick with 2h or buy better 1h gear (shield/sword)
