Icons and such disappearing... o.o
#1
Everytime I go into windowed mode, my icons turn into black squares. I found out a way to fix it, but it just keeps happening. Frown

Hit alt+ tab and then go back to Maplestory.

... Even after I close Maplestory it remains broken until I fix it. Alt tabbing doesn't do anything. O.o

Edit: Btw the way I fix it is by going into advanced settings and manually moving icon size up and back down.

Yeah I have it too... It has something to do with hackshield blocking memory adresses...

Also, I still wait for xfire to work again with maple... Hackshield upgrade disabled xfire in-game, so now i dont have an in-game clock anymore... Sad

Assuming you're either using XP or Trista, you can easily 'fix' this by not playing maplestory, or pressing that 'go to desktop' icon on your taskbar.

They're called Tray Icons.

Regarding your problem I do experience blackness of the rest of my screen, but I just fiddle around with everything and they all go back to normal. So I don't know how to fix your problem.

If your icons are loading at a slow rate, it is because playing MS uses a lot of memory, if you didn't know. However, I haven't experienced my icons blackening-out.. on my PC or on my Laptop. My PC has 1GB of RAM, my laptop has about.. 2GB. If it stays blackened, I can't say much there, because I wouldn't know the solution to that. If I told you to get more RAM, I'd just sound like a idiot, because I could be wrong, and that's not always the solution. -shifty eyes-

It usually only happens to me on my mIRC and Skype icons in the system tray. When I'm outside of MS, when the icon itself changes (e.g. setting status to away and then back to available), it goes back to normal. Or I just restore mIRC, which takes it out of the system tray.

I have 4 GB of RAM and have never had a problem with Maple until we got our Hackshield update.

As far as I know, I don't believe this problem is fixable unless you always play full screen. It's not like something is wrong because the icons are black. It's just because of Maple being windowed and the icons loading in a weird way because of Hackshield.

Hacksheild also likes to mess with the loading of Messages in AIM/MSN when you're in Windowed mode, with Maple selected as the main application you're in.

tl;dr It's just Hackshield being a douche. There's nothing wrong with your stuff.
