No, why would it? That'd be robbing you of your posessions, which you can sue for.

Actually, it legally can. NX is not your possession, it's a part of the game. Just like if you have a gift certificate, you can't go to that place in 10 years and use it. These things do have expiration dates. While I have heard that NX has a 1 year expiration date, I can't say for sure. But even if it does, they have the legal right to have it do so.

It's still a stupid rule. That's basically saying you can't stockhold. And it's their way of making people buy more nx. What happens after a year for the mts merchanters? Does all their nx just suddenly disappear? They better spend it all.
I registered my account with an e-mail I only check once in awhile, so what happens if you miss it? They don't send an in-game notice?

Hell, even the MTS merchanters would be using it, since, you know, they use it to merchant. Zpyke Wrote:It's still a stupid rule. That's basically saying you can't stockhold. Well I am pretty sure all NX is tagged and dated in groups if it does indeed expire, and would be used from oldest to newest. So if you charged some NX in September, then made some NX through the MTS in December, and then bought a 2x card this weekend, it would spend part of the NX from September. So as long as you don't just horde NX and never spend a cent of it for some reason, it should be fine. And if it's something you're worried about you can easily launder and renew it using MTS, though you'd lose some in taxes. I think it's just meant so that if someone who got banned 3 years ago somehow gets unbanned and they had 100k NX somehow it wouldn't be reintroduced into the system and mess with their calculations of NX intake. Oooor, more likely, maybe it's just because they have a system that automatically clears the cache after a year has passed so it doesn't get clogged up because having a ton of transactions and expiration dates and such would create a lot of excess data.

Can't you view NX similar to gift cards? If so, same laws should apply. I'm not sure how wide spread this law is. But I know in some places, gift cards aren't allowed to expire.
