Disconnecting

A friend asked me to post this for him:

"I'm having problems playing the game, I've already patched and tried reinstalling the game a few times, this has been happening from 0.68 when I came back to play maple. Whenever I log in to the game I get disconnected, it would run fine when I used the compatibility mode for win2k but now hackshield doesn't allow me to do that.

Any ideas on how to solve my problem?"

release the winsock or w/e is what i did every time i patched since .67

Uhhh, what is exactly winsock and how do I release it?
