Maple Items not Dropping?
#1
Am I missing something, or are they either not dropping or incredibly rare this go-round?

Ask Cassandra for a Maple Weapon? o.O That's one way to get them.

That's not what I asked...
I know how to get things from the quests/npcs. What I want to know is if they drop.

I saw that. 1 isolated ss doesn't prove anything. Not to discredit him, but that wouldn't be a difficult thing to fake.

I was killing Red Serpents for like 2 hours with x2 drop and nothing dropped. I mean nothing, as in nothing.

My gut feeling is that the drop rate is low at the beginning and increases as we get closer to the anniversary date

It's also very possible (in my opinion) that they weren't even supposed to start dropping until the anniversary day. In that case, any drops before the server maintenance were a mistake.

Yea, drops can be set without server maintenance, so they could have programmed them that way.

There's also the *rare* possibility that they went with the same monsters as the 1st anniversary. No shields, but every 35/43 item (minus pirates) dropped from monsters already in the game. Specific ones. I believe Boars dropped 3 of them, actually.

Otherwise...yea. :X

My friend said he got a knuckle and whatsoever from Captains in Herb Town when I logged on, it was before Emergency Check though.

I got an MS shield at Bubblings within 30mins of hunting there on 2x.

Stayed there for another 2 hours, but nothing...

maybe the theory that it's rare before the anniversary is right? Then comes flooding out when it gets closer...

They might just have a lower drop rate since you can get the lv 35 weapons from the tree to upgrade.

My friend found two Kandayos at Harps yesterday. I didn't bother asking which color Harp. Doesn't really matter, since you kill both on the main map.

None of those - go to Maple Admin

Derp.. of course they're there. It's not like they're supposed to have some kind of frequent drop rate. People have spent hours at bubblings and fail to find a Maple Shield, while others enter the map and find their shield in a couple of minutes.

That was a mistake lol xD At the time, all I remembered was talking to someone in the middle of Leafre. Cassandra and Cody and the Maple Admin were all there.

Maple Admin only lets you get Earrings and a Helmet at the expense of Maple Leaves. Upgrades will require the equip + leaves.

For Maple Weapons, you can get them from turning in Gold Leaves, otherwise they're drop only.

Drum Bunnies drop Level 35 Knuckle.
Mixed/Dark Golems drop Level 35 Gun.

Maple Admin does however, let you upgrade your weapons. If you have a Level 35 Weapon and 2000 Leaves, you can get a Level 64 Weapon. If you have a Level 43 Weapon and 1500 Leaves, you can get a Level 64 Weapon. You can't go from Level 35 --> 43 with an upgrade.

Maple Cape can be obtained by Cassandra's Quest (Cassandra's Latest Information) in which you get Snow Silk, talk to Winston in Perion, Arwen in Ellinia, and then I believe Kriel in Orbis. Never completed it, but going on word of mouth.

For accuracy's sake, the complete and correct path is: Cassandra -> Winston (Perion) -> Arwen (Ellinia) -> Francois (Ellinia) -> Lisa (Orbis) -> Alacaster (Nath)

You'll need 30 Snow Silk and a small amount (like 10-20) of Maple Leaves to get the level 3 (final) Maple Cape.
