Pap Monster Card buff actually gives 2x Drop

I dunno if this has been mentioned, though I did a search and couldn't find it. Pap's monster card buff says that you gain more mesos from monsters in the lower clock tower while it is active. I tried that out at vikings and found that instead of the mesos amount doubling, mesos and etc was dropping from every monster I killed. Meaning that it's more like 2x Drop rather than mesos up. Apparently Pianus gives a similar card, except it's for aqua.

Are all the cards that give "more mesos from drops" like this?

Too bad it only lasts for like... 20 minutes though, so I can't kill another pap in that time

I found hella stuff at sharks after I killed pianus yesterday. Too bad I didn't find the elusive Chaos scroll or that would be one hell of a deal.

Generally only the big bad boss monsters of associated areas give 2x drop or w/e.

A friend reported that getting Mano's card doubled drops from all Lith Harbor area monsters.

I used the Papulatus card to get myself a few equips and the Spirit Viking card =P

Pianus card also gives a higher drop rate buff.

Yeah I think all the boss cards are that way. Zakum's card gives 2x drop for the dead mines area, though not all of nath. Maybe Snowman's gives the nath area. I would of gotten a horntail card too, but it crashes the server when horntail dies so....

Pretty sure all the boss cards give 2x drop for their area, but only for 20? 30? minutes. I only managed to get some gold teeth so far... and I haven't gotten anything from vikings when I was on pap's 2x drop card ;~;

I did no drop buffs on sunday, got a ton of equips

Yesterday did a family x2 drop + x2 drop card [no pap buff but difference shouldn't be this huge] and got like nothing.

So how do these card buffs work? Is it only for your first card or do only certain cards give you the buff?

My first card was a Reinforced Iron Mutae, and I got a buff from that.

Each time you get a multiple card it has a different effect. ex. Adding HP and MP of monsters, showing what they drop, etc.

I think you always get the buff from the monster after you pick up the card though. :f6:

EDIT:

- Each time a card is registered (collected) in the monster book, you can earn 30 minutes of a Monster's Special Buff.
- When you have collected the max 5 cards for a particular monster, you will be given a special designated monster hunting priority for that particular monster for 1 hour from the moment the 5 cards are collected.

- The designated monster hunting effect expires after 1 hour. Even if 1 hour does not pass but you collect the max 5 cards for another monster, then the designated monster hunting effect will be reset to the new monster with the old one no longer in effect.
- If you log out of the game, the buff effect will be lost.

It was definitly 20 minutes last night for the pap one I got though...

I can confirm it's 20 minutes too.

Question: I killed 6 paps but only the last one didn't drop the card, Does it mean after completing the set I won't have the effect again?

I'm not sure of the answer to the question "Can you get more than 5 cards"

But, the card doesn't drop 100% of the time, so that doesn't provide evidence against it

Once you complete the set you can never get the buff again. Even if you pick the card up you get a message saying something like "your book is full and the card will disappear."

I've done this, but got poor results. I'm thinking about combining Family 2x drop + NX 2x drop card + Pap buff.

I hope they don't patch the Family 2x stacking before they have a 2x drop event. 16x drop; Think of the possiblities
